El Asteca — Restaurant in Knoxville

My husband has been trying to get me to eat here since they opened. We have both been saying how can little knoxville support three mexican restaurants. We usually eat at Casa Grande downtown knoxville. We have been very happy with their food etc., we have also eaten at Monarca on hwy 14, I hope you read reviews before going there they have terrible food and we will never go there again and yes we tried them twice with the food still sucked. I would think with El Asteca opening they may lose a lot of customers. Now to El Asteca there food is absolutely delicious! My husband had The Knoxville Special and couldn't finish it because he was stuffed. They give you plenty of food and it is good. I had chicken fajitas they were delicious also. We tried the fried Ice cream and it was soso. Next time I will try the Flan. So there you have it in a nut shell of my eperiences in Knoxville. Hope you all enjoy it as mush...

First time to eat there. Good food, excellent service, even though they were busy. Margarita was exceptional. Only negative is the salsa could be a little thicker and spicer- even with that, it was good. Chips were thin and very crispy. Would definitely recommend for good...
