Aesthetically pleasing. We came from out of town to watch the races. Decided to try 111 as it looked quite nice. We went in right at 5 on Saturday. First customers in the door. We werenāt sure what to order so it took time. The waitress was kind 100% of the time. I ordered a Rueben with fries and a pitcher of Busch lite. My wife ordered the 111 spicy burger with fries and the champagne mule. We also ordered the artichoke dip with āthick tortillasā (regular blue tortillas chips). Everything came in a good amount of time. Now the bad news. The fries, though crispy, were maybe fried in old oil as they left a bad taste in your mouth. My Rueben was top 10 as Iām a huge fan of the sandwich. My wifeās 111 spicy burger (not noted) was a smash burger. The burger was subpar. The artichoke dip was great, my wifeās drink was strong and the beer was okay. Now onto the payment. The waitress, though kind, did not tell us the price of our meal. I gave her a $100 bill. The waitress and the bartender struggled to figure out the change as the bartender brought out her own purse to get more money. Maybe this is more of a plastic payment business. I received my change along with a receipt. My change was $27.31. Happy hour says Saturday 5-6:30 on the menu. The pitcher was supposed to be 12 but was charged 15. The mule 5 but was 8. We talked to the waitress about the issue. She took our receipt and said she would look into it. We sat for an extra 10 minutes with no answers. The waitress kept helping other customers. I left $8 as to leave a good tip for what we were over charged as this may or may not be the waitresses mess up. Waitresses still deserve a great tip but this restaurant deserves a bad review. I will tell everybody I meet to stay away from this establishment as they are money hungry and serve only decent food. The races were great....
Ā Ā Ā Read moreI really wanted to like this place and have been waiting for a date night to enjoy it. I felt since it has been open for quite some time, that we would be blown away. The atmosphere is great. Although,in the cold months, sitting by the front window is out of the question. Since I didnāt want to eat my meal bundled in a winter coat we asked to be moved and was accommodated quickly. Great selection of craft beers on tap. Appetizer was great. Ordered the spinach artichoke dip/pita chips. Salads with the meal were great. Especially the addition of sun dried tomatoes. Main courses were highly disappointing. My husband had the surf and turf ($25) and I ordered the creamy risotto ($14). Steak was cooked closer to rare than medium rare. No problem, but the cut was so full of gristle, it was tough to cut through or even chew. There was absolutely no seasoning on the meat. My risotto was overcooked and the consistency of slime. A nice piece of bread was served on top of the risotto, but completely drowned and soft by the time it came to the table, I didnāt want to eat it. Absolutely no flavor to the risotto. It was very bland. If it were not overcooked, seasoning would have made this dish more flavorful. We ordered the chocolate cheesecake for dessert. It was delicious.
I am rating 3 stars because when you spend $100 on a meal after tip, you expect to have flavorful, well cooked food. Our main courses were nothing to write home about, and for a destination spot in Knoxville, at a price point people are spending on these entrees, the food needs to be spot on.
It is uncertain if we will return. If we do, it would likely be to sit at the bar and enjoy a craft beer . Iām not sure we would risk spending a lot of money on...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreTook a nice motorcycle ride and ended up in Knoxville at One Eleven Public House. No wait for a table for 2. Mixture of high tops, booths, bar seating, and a small outdoor area. We chose a high top.
Started with pulled pork nachos which I rated as a 5 out of 5 and bf rated at a 2. There was a ton of pulled pork, fresh salsa and guacamole, peppers, onions, tomatoes over pita chips. I loved them. He wished for more cheese and salsa and didn't enjoy the thicker chips. Good. More for me!
Each had a drink- salty dog for him, gin fizz for me. Both very tasty. My first gin fizz and I will order again sometime knowing that I like it.
Shared a Flatbread for dinner which was the One Eleven flavor. It had beef, onion, spinch, feta cheese. Flatbread was fluffy and yummy. They could have included more toppings, pretty sparse on that front.
All in all nice meal out and glad we ended up there. Neat decor and neat concept. Take time to read about the owners on the menu. It's worth the read! Paid $50 which included 20%...
