Brutal experience from coffee to latte to food and service.
To start - they made my order for a Flat White with non dairy as a wet latte with regular milk that came out 12 min later with no other order ahead.
The “breakfast sandwich” was supposed to be on a “croissant “ for $3 extra dollars and it was airport BREAD… no folds, no flakes, not a croissant in any degree.
The avocado was old.
The egg was flat and likely from a freezer.
The coffee on drip was waxy and dull (supposedly an Ethiopian medium roast - already a weird combo) - the small sips I had lead to heart burn which is not something I get.
lastly, service - when I eventually got the flat white I returned after tasting it was made with milk (old at that) and it was a long wait to find it wasn’t even being made and I said “I’m good on the flat white” and the kid working just looks lost and frazzled and replies “oh. Okay you sure?”…
No refund offer, no customer service, no acknowledgement how bad they were (unable to read the room - seems the ability to make coffee or espresso apparently wasn’t a criteria for this job).
Save your money go to CAPYBARA or FIVE & HOEK … I’ve visited most coffee shops of all varieties in the city and these two are the only worthy of time and the money for SUPERIOR coffee or any kind really. Pour overs at Capy, cold brew and specialty at Five… basic coffee and tea at Old City Java (one of the oldest coffee shops for students)
But do not support the inferior service, coffee, and food of this business until they get...
Read moreCame to grab a coffee as I get bored with Starbucks and KBrew and wanted to try something new. The venue is cute; however, it seems that there is way too much space for a simple coffee joint. The multiple family rooms with various seating is nice but makes the area feel more empty and lonely. When I arrived, there was no indication on where to order. I walked to the back of the house to find nothing, and noticed it was tucked away in the first family room on the right. Upon arriving, no one was there but my wait was not long. The barista who assisted me was unfortunately very unpleasant. She did not smile once, was unfriendly, and never acknowledged the second guest who walked in while I waited. She set the coffees down with no word. Not a have a nice day, or a thanks. Customer service alone, I wouldn't be back. The coffee was mid. I ordered two coffees made the same way with two different flavors (caramel and vanilla brown sugar). Mine had no flavor and tasted of milk (even with 5 shots?), my finance's did have some flavor thankfully. Maybe if the customer service was better I wouldn't be so disappointed in a...
Read moreI am going to leave five stars, because the three times that I've gotten coffee have been great. But my sister ordered the spiced vanilla cold brew and it was one of the worst coffees either of us has had :/ It tasted like a watered down coffee, fruit drink. My question, when trying it again, will be if they use different coffee beans for different drinks....... I'd still recommend trying this place, though. Chill vibe. Eclectic art and furniture. Friendly staff. Beautifully converted house. Plenty of space for a larger group as well as little nooks. They contribute to a good cause. Lastly, but not least, the coffee is excellent! I can easily find a cute coffee shop, but I can't easily find a cup of coffee that I know I'm going to crave, and it isn't for a lack of searching. I thoroughly enjoyed my cold brown sugar latte and regretted not ordering a large. Strong but not overpowering, and sweet without overwhelming, and no citrus undertones was a big...
