Original Zomato Review 12/30/14 - COCK-A-DOODLE DON'T. We decided to stop by Roosters because we've not been there. (My gripe: since Wingstop left Knoxville, there's really not a good wing in town.) I'll start by saying--this is NOT a family joint, so don't get your panties in a wad thinking that you can bring your kids in here. It's a bar with potential smokers. If you don't like to smoke while you eat, well, you won't like Roosters.

I ordered wings (hottest they had) and my wife ordered pizza. The wings (the menu doesn't list how many come in a basket) came out first - I still haven't found a good wing. The wing sauce was not good and mildly hot. Also, I don't believe the wings were fried long enough but couldn't tell because of the sauce. I finished my wings long before my wife's pizza was served. The pizza was actually not bad - the toppings were moisture-heavy making it a little soggy.

What's funny about this review is that I agree with one of the other reviewers - I saw the regulars (middle-aged car salesmen, old guys, and a couple of frat boys. Thank goodness my wife was with me or she could have been the woman looking for her...

The wings were great! The traditional wings are large and saucy. I wasn't sure if 5 would be enough, but after having the appetizer, it was plenty! I had the mild sauce. The other items ordered were honey BBQ boneless wings and traditional smoked wings with no sauce. The traditional wings were very good, even without sauce. The boneless wings didn't have enough sauce and were average. The ranch dipping sauce was watery, and I do not recommend it. We ordered the basket of onion rings. There were plenty to share, but they were bland and barely average. I do suggest you try the soft pretzels with the Rotel cheese dip. They were fantastic! Our server was prompt and friendly. If you are looking for wings and want a place to watch a football game, stop in! Something worth mentioning is that the restaurant is divided into sections. There is a smoking side and a nonsmoking side. We came in on the smoking side, but once we were on the other side, we couldn't tell there was a smoking section. There is an...

Stopped to check this place out and watch the NCAA baseball tournament. Awesome menu and food. I am trying to cut down on my plastic use. I was served with a straw in my drink. Ok, that's still somewhat acceptable. Chips came with salsa in small to-go plastic containers with lids. I did not like this. On top of that, Savannah, the bartender/waitress never was at my table more than a minute the entire visit. I got her name off the bill as she walked by and threw it on the table. I hollered at her to come back. I asked if they only served salsa in the small plastic to-go cups with lids. She said, yes, is that a problem. I said, yes, I don't like the use of all the plastic. She said, well, yeah, it's a bar and walked off. I wanted to order more food and get refills but that is not happening. Savannah had a horrible attitude. There was 4 other guys in the bar drinking beer they already had so I was the only one she had...

Great Knoxville sports bar! A little off the beaten path in the Rocky Hill area off Northshore Drive, but not far from West Town Mall/Kingston Pike and totally worth a visit! Great atmosphere and cool sports bar feel without being too divey. Pretty large for a neighborhood bar with lots of different sections and places to sit. There’s at least three separate bars, as well as an enclosed kind of patio and an open air covered patio. Food is really good and good drink special specials. I went for lunch and had the roosters chicken sandwich, which was great! Lots of TVs, which of course is key. This is a smoking bar so know that going in, but it doesn’t smell too bad. I could see this place being a pretty fun hangout, especially on big game days!
