I come here probably 1-2x month for years now, always get the exact same thing. My expectations are low for cleanliness/service because this is Waffle House, but lately even the food has let me down. I went yesterday at 8pm- only one other table in the restaurant and our server even noted how quiet it was. We were told to sit anywhere; the table we sat down at was still dirty. A few minutes in, a half inch long cockroach crawled out from behind my seat and onto my bench. My chocolate chip waffle then came burnt and without chocolate chips; that's happened before, no biggie, usually they'll remake it. My waitress took the waffle back, turned around, added chocolate chips to the hard waffle, and gave it back. We weren't given syrup, and she didn't come back to check on us for over 5 minutes. She was on the other side doing what looked like side work but didn't hear me call for her. The double hashbrowns only had my cheese on one side, and they were stacked so high that the middle wasn't fully cooked. Mid-meal, a nasty sewage smell started which lasted the rest of the time. When I went to pay, the girl literally standing at the register didn't acknowledge me for over a minute. Mind you, store is empty. Just a very disappointing experience, and I can't give the same grace as normal because they were slow and the mistakes were careless. The waitress was very sweet though. This has gone from a one-off experience to something that happens every...
Read moreIt is Waffle House.. Most of the time you know that you will have a quick service meal, with food that is convenient and the same each time. Served by people that are fairly friendly and serving customers for a quick turnover. This place was awful., this time, a couple years ago it was 5 stars for what it is. This time, the server was very much non verbal, and unable to understand what was ordered. The order for myself and the person there, as well was wrong, then wrong again. Finally getting it almost halfway correct she seemed to have disappeared, a drink refill from her was not an option. Finally she emerged to look as if she has been hit in the eye while she was in the back area, out of sight. When she had returned to the storefront she just stood and stared ahead. There was one lady that was really on the ball as a server she helped get us a drink refill and our check and processed the pymt. We made sure she got the tip. While taking up the one servers slack she pleasantly greeted all coming in (Friday and a couple large groups came in to an already full restaurant), listened to what they stated they were needing and ordering and between her and a cook, and a lady having to keep everything cleaned and ready for customers the place did not have to shut the doors. I imagine those 3 were very tired and I hope their managers remember them and how they kept...
Read moreI understand places become short staffed and it gets busy but Customer Service should always be Top Priority. I have been in Customer Service/Food Service for 6+ years. There is no excuse for the service I received at 4 in the morning. It’s unfortunate because I’m a regular who just comes by on their lunch break. I’m always happy to tip but not when you hint that you need one and also not providing excellent service.
To think it’s ok to Serve me raw bacon, that clearly wasn’t cooked all the way is unacceptable, and if you can’t pay attention to the grill don’t cook at all for ToGo orders if you’re just a server. Then to ask me if I’m ok with a burnt waffle because you didn’t pay attention to it and didn’t want to really remake it because you’re in such a hurry to care for guest that have already been served is beyond me. I didn’t leave a tip. I have done better and know that better can be achieved. I threw my entire food out because I could not eat nor enjoy my food for lunch. I work overnights and long hours and I would have to eat somewhere else when I get off. I would appreciate a refund of $12.96 on food that was served to me undercooked & burnt. I could have gotten really sick from the bacon and luckily I turned my light on in the car to see that they weren’t cooked. I tossed everything back into the bag and...
