Having NOT have ordered from scoops my little boy and I went through the drive thru today, and he got a double scoop chocolate normal cone. I ordered a waffle cone. It was 12.00 which seems like alot. Anyways they handed me a traditonal small cake cone with a mountain of ice cream falling off. It was so much and falling over the sides in a way you could not even grip the cone. A large block of chocolate. I said immediately as she was handing it to me that that was too much. It was not even a rounded scoop it was like a giant mountain of icecream . I didnt want it, he wouldnt be able to have it and I needed to handle my own giant scoops of Icecream melting down my arm. She gave me a small bowl to help but would not take this mess from me. The block of chocolate was twice the width of the bowl and made more mess. It didnt help. She handed me more napkins all the while I was saying I didnt want the fast melting down my arm icecream, she said she could not take it back. I asked for a single cone instead or if they could take some of this icecream and put it as a single scoop on a cone. No again. I asked if they could at least throw it away trying to hand it back. She said no they cant take it from me. I pulled out of the line holding both melting icecream's while my son cried. He was overwhelmed and just wanted a normal chocolate cone. I walked up , threw away 6.00 of chocolate icecream which ruined my clothing by this point. I went to the window trying to keep my cone from falling all over me and asked if I can have a single chocolate cone for a kid. She said no. I was overly irritated by this time and I was so mad. None of these kids representing this buisness have any idea about customer service. This is not the end of the world. Its an ice cream cone. I said I had to throw away the other one and I need just a single, she said well I cant give you one for free. I snapped and swore when I said I dont need a fu#@i g free one, I just need a icecream for my son!!! . Instead of helping me she decided to get all professional and In charge and said I can not cuss at her and all sorts of other scolding things to me . Treating me like a crazy person. I was in such disbelief of the lack of anyone working that they wouldnt step in and help. I am a corp. Trainer for a large company , dealing 100% in customer service. Noticing a mother struggling with a child and icecream melting everywhere and not lending a helping hand, taking the ice cream back from me in the beginning when she realized how ridiculous it was... saying shes not allowed to touch it again, I understand that, but when asked to throw it away? Help a customer out. How was I supposed to drive away holding this mess? She and the other employees need a service lesson. How and when to HELP someone. After I paid for a 3rd cone, so my son could have his chocolate, I asked about a manager or owner. She would not tell me any information . She said he was there earlier but not now. My son said this was the worst icecream ever. He was apologizing for asking for some, like he did something wrong. No one would have wanted that. It was not edible, it was poorly scooped.. Please train your employees , empower them to help a struggling person . To have empathy and to do the right thing when faced with these situations. Or at least have someone...
Read moreI’m disappointed to say I can only give 2 stars at most because of my overall experience here. The ice cream was good and prices were decent, it was part of the customer service and cleanliness that I found SEVERELY lacking.
I would like to note first that it seemed very busy when my family and I arrived but after sitting on the bench for awhile waiting for the very small building to clear out a little we realized it was one group of friends clustered near the register just talking to the worker sitting there.
Shortly after getting in line I stepped in a puddle of what looked like melted chocolate ice cream, I cleaned my foot off so I would not track it through the small space any more than it already was but when I told the young lady she responded “it’s fine” in a very monotone unfriendly voice and did not seem to care of the possible slipping hazard, there was even an older couple right behind me that luckily saw me step in it so that they could avoid it, no sign was put up and they weren’t warning people or apologizing for the inconvenience or anything that I feel Is normal customer service.
I have to say the young man who scooped my ice cream was very friendly and efficient with the customers and was not distracted by them like the young lady working. They stayed talking for a lot longer than necessary even after she noticed that she had more customers waiting to be checked out. With how fast she was able to check me and my family out I guarantee if she wasn’t too busy talking to do her job the floor wouldn’t have been so disgusting and there wouldn’t have been so many people crammed into such a tiny space. Though as I mentioned before she did not even do the bare minimum I feel as any food worker should do who deals with customers, she did not show any friendliness with us as we saw her do 15 seconds prior to the group of her friends before us, did not ask if we would like a receipt or tell us if one was not available to be given she just stayed mostly silent other than telling us our total and that the ice cream melted on the floor was fine, she gave us our card back as soon as she was done and turned to the next customer without so much as a “have a good day” which I feel is standard in the customer...
Read moreIf it was an option I would have put 0 stars. I went to Scoops today and when I walked in they said two people max at one time. There was only 1 lady giving her order and i was the 2nd person in there. They made me walk out to wait. I understand everything is still kinda shut down or limiting things. But everyone that goes there touches the door and they aren't offering hand sanitizer, but they only want 2 people at a time?! It's a joke. Needless to say I did not wait, i just left. And that was the first time i even tried to go there. Will never be back. I just hope that Frozen Custard opens up...
