I ate at The Recovery Room in La Crosse three nights in a row while traveling for work, and it did not disappoint! The food was fantastic, and the service was consistently excellent. The cozy neighborhood pub and grill atmosphere made it the perfect spot to unwind after a long day. I tried the cheese curds, steak tips, and wings—everything was delicious. The Kentucky bourbon glaze and the honey Sriracha cilantro sauce were absolute standouts. If you're wondering what to do in La Crosse, definitely check this place out. I’ll be back for sure!

Listen, if you look up the words "neighborhood bar" a picture of The Recovery Room should pop up. Amazing experience every time. I am never treated as if my money doesn't matter. I'm greated everytime I enter as if they haven't seen me in years and they really missed me...the atmosphere is light, fun, funny and engaging. The food is wayyyy above what you'd expect from a bar. I had prime rib last Thursday! PRIME RIB!, at a bar...and it was fantastic! If you want THE premier neighborhood bar experience stop at Recov!

Solid food. I enjoyed my burger. In true Wisconsin fashion the fish sandwich had 2 pieces that could have made multiple sandwiches. Also, looking at the drink specials I understand why this state doesn't want to legalize cannabis and keep everyone drunk.

Food was good, above average bar food. I ordered the teriyaki chicken with curly fries and would order it again if the service wasn’t so odd. I think the bartender was attempting to be quirky and funny but instead came off condescending and rude. A few examples -

-I arrived before my friend, and asked if I could have a glass of water and two menus. In response he pointed behind him at the water dispensers and asked me to move tables because I chose a four top instead of a two top. While walking my belongings over to the smaller table, he asked me if I wanted to pay for both of our tabs because I arrived first. I said no thanks, we will pay our own tabs. He asked if I was sure, and didn’t I want to buy lunch for my friend? No thanks, again.

My friend arrived and he came over to ask if we were good with water. My friend ordered a Pepsi and I asked if we could get an order of cheese curds to split. He paused, looked at me, and said “No I asked if you were good with water. You can get the cheese curds but that’s not what I asked you.”

-I had finished eating, so he came over to grab my plate. My friend had over half of her food left, and he proceeded to grab her plate. She asked him to set it back down, because she wasn’t done eating. He then lectured her on how stacking napkins on her plate was considered the universal sign of being finished, and she should adjust her behavior next time. She had asked for no tomatoes but her pita came with them and that’s why she had napkins on the corner of her plate.

Weird. Food was good but it felt like every step of our meal was an inconvenience to our server. Probably...

I’m here visiting LaCrosse for the RV show that my company is participating in and our group of 7 were hoping to find a good takeout breakfast spot to get us going on a busy Saturday morning. We called a number of spots near downtown asking about takeout and everyone told us no, they were accepting take out orders. We ended up finding Recovery Room and I called and spoke with an incredibly sweet young lady who was more than happy to take our large order. The food was just about ready when I arrived 20 minutes later which was perfect because it was hot and fresh and by the time I made it back to the LaCrosse Center it was still hot & fresh for everyone! The staff was just as friendly in person as they were on the phone. The bar itself is clean and my first impression was that this is definitely a place I’d come for a night out. More on the divey side, which I personally love!! The food tasted AMAZING! Crisp hashbrowns and fresh veggies and meats in the omelette! The service was impeccable and the food was amazing! I will come back next...

I have been going to the Recovery Room for a fairly long time. I was more than a little shocked at the reception I received when I came in for the first time after they had closed for over a month due to improvements. The new bartnder Greg was more hospitable than one of the owners, who I have grown to know a little over the years (maybe it's the owners girlfriend - Ashley). Anyway, it was almost as if I had never been in there before. She didn't say hi or even make the slightest bit of eye contact. I can't even be sure she actually knew my name by how she was acting. In a way, it was surreal. She only called me by my name after I gave her my credit card to pay and didn't acknowledge me other than to ask if I wanted another beer. Even some people next to me were previous customers and made a comment about the improvements and all she said was 'thank you'. Literally nothing else. lt was a huge turn off. Not sure if I will be going back...
