This park is absolutely disgusting filled with literally garbage everywhere paired with homeless people camped out by the pier, a port-a-potty that someone had set on fire, some random dude sitting on a park bench the whole time that people would walk up to for a few mins and leave while others drive to the park to ‘chat’ with him for a min before leaving. I’m assuming he was dealing drugs…and a huge van with wooden boards over the windows all spray painted black AND RUNNING THE WHOLE TIME!! Talk about creepy!
The park is in a great location right on the Mississippi, next to a big boat landing/dock and has the potential to be absolutely gorgeous, but not with all the crime going on there and overall neglect.
We stopped as we drove through town on our way back home and just needed to find a place to eat our lunch and throw a line in for a few mins, but you couldn’t even get to the water in most of the park and the places you could you had to climb down huge rocks and not kill yourself doing so just to get snagged in the seaweed along most of the shoreline….would not recommend unless the cities gets involved in...
Read moreThe smaller park (which is meant for the small dogs and old/disabled dogs) always has large and vicious breeds in it! People do not respect that small dogs should also have a safe place to play and run with other small dogs (or older and disabled dogs that can’t hurt them on accident). Heck I’d even be fine with it if they just brought in friendly big dogs (my little one loves labs and Golden’s!) but sadly people bring in their more aggressive players (Not mean dogs just more playful aggressive — which is fine with dogs their own size but with the little ones accidents can happen). I know little dogs can be just as mean (if not meaner) than big dogs but at least 2 big dogs or 2 small dogs get into a fight you have a chance to separate them before anything horrible happens, but a big and small dog on the other hand... well it only takes one bite from a big one and the little ones a goner. And however much I love all breeds and there not all bad, little dogs with pit-bulls and Rottweilers is asking for trouble. They really should be in...
Read more1st off I want to say that I was very impressed with how the dog park is designed. A large one and a smaller 1. It was the 1st time my daughter myself and my dog were there and we ran into for other dogs and their owners and they were all great. However I did hear of a dog that was slightly aggressive that was there earlier that day. People need to understand that if their dog has any aggression towards humans children or other dogs that they should not be bringing them there or have a muzzle. My main reason for only Giving 3 stars is because when I left I ran over a screw and I also had a screw stuck in the bottom of my flip flop that was poking my toe. These screws ended up causing me to get a flat tire in the process. If they are going to be doing any kind of work they need to make sure they're picking up after themselves because that's very unsafe. The over all park was great and I would consider going again but not parking in the entrance closest to the...
