This was a great little place to find. I'm not from LaFollette, but was just there for work. I googled "lunch specials near me," and I'm really glad I settled on this spot.
It's a no-frills style menu that boasts the "Worlds best hotdogs" on the front glass. I'm a big fan of Nathan's all-beef kosher franks, so I couldn't help but try one of theirs with a side of fried pickles. I had the Nacho Dog, a chili-dog topped with nacho cheese and pickled jalapenos. I was Very satisfied.
The decor is a bit Montana (wood carving of The statue of liberty, wild boar mounted on the wall, etc.) which I found a charming change of pace, and the employees were absolutely great. Professional, courteous and friendly, but pretty no-nonsense. There are also pool tables in the back of the dining room.
I will definitely be back to try the Royal Burger (Royale with cheese🤣), a bacon cheeseburger topped with an over-easy egg, and the onion rings. I wanted to try the onion rings that day, but there aren't enough Tums in the world to settle my belly if I'd've had the onion rings with the Nacho Dog. 🤣

Read moreIf these ain't the best dogs in the county they are either 1A, 1B, or 1C! 😋 Gotta give a shout out to the other best dog award winners Judy's Grocery also of Lafollette and the Quik Stop mini mart of Caryville. Keep in mind that my rankings or lack thereof is based upon my personal favorite style which is a Slaw Dog. I suppose if I had to pick a overall winner it would be The Royal based on variety alone ( their Nacho Dog is a surefire crowd pleaser as well as their Classic Dog served all the way) and if I'm splitting hairs Judy's Grocery has the hands down best Slaw Dog if you can manage to fit your mouth around it to get a bite. To say it is loaded with toppings is a terrible misrepresentation. Anyways that's my two cents and you know what they say about opinions everyone has one just like another thing that others don't find very pleasant 💩💩 but do keep in mind I'm something like a professional hotdog critic 😂 why one might if call me a frankfurter connoisseur...
Read moreI eat here on occasion. This hole in the wall restaurant is not what you would think from the outside. Stepping inside, you see a rustic saloon vibe with an old style diner feel. Pool table in the back for a game while you wait on your food or after. The grill is behind the bar so you can see your food being cooked. They are locally famous for their hotdogs, but their hamburgers are wonderful! If you go through the week during lunchtime, be prepared to wait. Their always busy. A local lunch hotspot. Out of all the times eating here, I've only had one bad experience. Waited 45 minutes on my burger. To their defense, they were extra crowded, and the cook was clearly having a bad day. I would recommend...
