In from out of town so I asked a store clerk where a good local place was to eat. She recommended Cinco de Mayo. Looked up their website and found something on their menu I wanted for $9.25. I called in and ordered a togo order. It was ready fairly fast which was nice. But I was initially confused from how much they brought out to give me with my order since I only ordered 1 item. Then the cashier rang it up and the price was around $12.50 which made no sense. She got another lady to come answer why. They mentioned that the shredded beef was $1 more (ok fine no big deal since I did ask for beef)...the online menu does NOT say that beef would be $1 more but I was willing to pay for the beef. Then she said the extra price was for rice and beans. I did not order rice and beans. I showed the cashiers the online menu on Enchiladas specifically says it does not come with rice and beans. But what I ordered did not say that it came with or without. So if rice and beans were an additional cost the menu should say AND the person taking the order should specify that it will cost more. Again, I never ordered rice and beans. The cashier's argument was that I shouldn't be using their website menu, I should be using Facebook. So why in the heck do they have a website still up if it is outdated??? Anyway, I refused to pay. I asked them to remake it as I ordered, but they wouldn't. So they lost a customer and get a bad review for poor service. I found much better food down the...
Read moreWe walked in, the owner grabbed 2 menus and said follow me.(no greeting) I told him I couldn't make up my mind between 2 entrees. I asked him about an item. He immediately acted put out by this. Zero patience. We placed our order and never saw him again, never asked how's the food, if we needed anything, nothing. We had 1 napkin when our meal showed up. I asked a waiter for some napkins, she said sure. They never came. I had the fajitas, which are a bit messy so I really needed more napkins. So I got up and went to the bussing section. I asked the owner for some more napkins. He gave 2, I asked could I have a couple more. He paused, and made direct eye contact with me, looking at me with contempt, he hands me 2 more. I said thank you, he was mute. He walked by our table and my girlfriend said the food was great, again, nothing from him. I went to pay and as much as I didnt want to leave any tip, I had to, as the food really was good. I left 10% percent on a $60 tab. He turned and walked away not saying a single word, thank you, come again, zip. Good food or not, nothing is worth putting up with that. We will...
Read moreWith better service, our experience could have been a lot better. The food was good for Americanized Tex-Mex. Which is fitting for a Mexican restaurant named after an American holiday that Mexicans don’t celebrate. We waited 20 minutes for our waitress to even come ask us about drinks. The Margarita was decent. I liked how they offered complimentary bean dip with the chips and salsa. However the beans were bland, and had little to no flavor. They obviously were not stewed with Onion, Bell Pepper, Celery, Garlic, and Epazote. As would be fairly traditional. We got the deluxe burritos, that were packed full of meat! A generous portion of meat served inside, with everything else on top. Starting with canned enchilada sauce, then cheese, sour cream and guacamole. Everything is just cheap, and lazy here. Seems like it’s all stripped down to accommodate a bland American palette. Can’t imagine too many people in Eastern Oregon know anything about authentic Mexican Cuisine. So I guess it’s a non-issue for...
