In short: standard greasy spoons diner with passable coffee & great staff

In detail: I should probably give this place 3 stars based on several factors, but I have enjoyed the few foods I've had here & we keep going back, so I am comfortable enough giving them 4. It's a diner... it's not a great diner, but it is what it is. The once or less a month that I want truly unhealthy food, this is the place we go. They make a mean grilled cheese... of that crispy, greasy, white bread & yellow cheese slice variety, not of the real food variety. I also enjoy their waffle fries and their onion rings are yum. My husband is happy enough with some meat sandwiches he's gotten... he always gets a salad with them & the salad looks absolutely terrible; supposedly their salad bar is the best in town & that may very well be true but I can tell by looking at it that it is barely consumable & I'll stick to my fried sides... I certainly am not being health-conscious when I walk through their doors! ;) The coffee is drinkable, but by no means good. However, any establishment like this offering exclusively non-dairy creamer is pretty inexcusable in my opinion... it's not like they don't sling enough coffee to worry about it going bad and the cost difference can't be enough to justify it. I will say that they are on the ball about making sure that you get refills frequently, something I can't say about other local establishments, not even Denny's. We haven't gone here for breakfast & probably never will. I'm a vegetarian and I'm far pickier about what I'll consume for my morning meal; their breakfast options look to be what you'd expect in selection & quality. I am a bit intrigued by their crepes, but I suspect I'd be disappointed by what this place...

My husband and I went in Smokehouse on a Sunday around 1:30pm. Keep in mind we had no idea they actually closed at 2 pm. They took our order after we said yes we needed more time deciding. They promptly got our food out to us. She, unfortunately we did not get her name, was fantastic about refilling coffee and bringing extra condiments etc. We sat catching up with newspaper and about our week during our meal. I asked for to go boxes as we were just about full just from soup and entree. A younger gal came and topped our coffees one more time. Our waitress then came and asked if we wanted a to go cup of coffee. Impressed we accepted and also agreed to boxed pie to go as well. We were in back of restaurant and went out front, took care of ticket, and they all thanked us for coming in. The gal vacuuming even switched it off and was very polite. We walked to car and glanced up to only see that they close at 2pm!! It was now 2:40! We felt terrible! Being THOSE people that stayed after close holding everyone up! Not once did anyone make us feel rushed, unwanted, or lead on that they were irritated! We were so impressed by their customer service that even if the food would have been bad.......which it was NOT! We would still go back just because of their hospitality! Since then I called them and learned that our waitress/owner was named Mandy. Mandy obviously takes her business to heart and cares about repeat customers! The food was also exceptional and the white chocolate creme pie was to die for!!! Thank you for the...

This is a cute little restaurant with a greasy spoon atmosphere. When we first arrived no one greeted us or acknowledged our presence. It took about 10-15 minutes to be seated and we showed up as tables were leaving so we had missed the rush. The service was great once we were seated and it’s a good place for kids, really laid back. The place is expensive it’s about $15-$20 per plate. Portion sizes are average, not too much, not too little.

The quality of the food is where we lose two stars. I order a breakfast scramble for $15+ it was supposed to come with eggs, green peppers, and sausage. It was all green peppers and eggs with some cheese on top. Seems like maybe they cut up a sausage link and added it to my “omelet”. The hash browns were mushy and starchy. For the amount we paid I expected better.

My husband had the chicken club and fries. He said it was generic and unremarkable. Also not worth the $16 we paid.

After all said and done for 4 of us. 2 adults and 2 kids we spent $85 after tip. If you’re looking for quality or a budget friendly place,...

We came here for breakfast food was excellent. But I'm writing the review specifically because there are only a handful of places in this country that know how to cook a country fried steak, little known, know what one is. A chicken fry and a country fried steak are two different cooking methods of the same steak. I ordered the country fried steak for lunch it was spectacular. The breading on the steak held to the meat, and it was the perfect amount of breading and seasoning. The cream gravy was creamy and peppery as it should be. Most places have issues keeping the breading to adhere to the meat, so you are left with breading all over your plate and a bare piece of meat. Not here! Best country fried steak I've had in ages. Except for those I cook myself at home...lol. excellent job guys. The name of the place might make you think of a BBQ or smoked meats; not so. They have good country cooking; but sadly no smoked brisket, pork butt, turkey, sausage or the like. None the less, a good place to eat. Highly recommend.

Amazing classic diner experience. The waitstaff is always on the spot. Smokehouse always delivers down-home country favorites that we all love. I highly recommend the “Hungry Tiger”. Chicken Fried Steak, served on a bed of hash browns, with eggs on top, smothered in gravy. Side of Biscuit and Gravy or Flapjacks. The “Country Stack” is exactly the same, only without the extra side. The chicken fried steak is lightly breaded, and always fresh. You can tell that it is homemade. If not from the quality, from the fact that the breading is perfectly done. Great flavor! The pancakes are really good for my expectations of a restaurant. Although, it is made from a mix. They still have that classic malt flavor. A taste of the old school when it comes to hotcakes. Been here dozens of times, and it’s only a matter of “when” I’ll be back.

I understand that there is a worker shortage of people who want to work, and we were told that they were somewhat backed up. But it took close to an hour from the time we ordered and when we got our food. My food was luke warm up my toasted bun was burnt. My wife's food was in similar condition. On the upside, they had gluten-free bread options. Staff was friendly and overwhelmed. Can't say that I would stop in again if traveling through.
