I and my family.far and close have been coming to this bar / restaurant for the past 13 yrs. For family fun and dinner of all ages.!!!!!! But tonight has put me in a position to never have family and friends ever return,, After spending over 200 dollars on a Thursday night in just drinks and food for me and 3 others. It’s 9 at night my friend and I are having private conversation with friend, In reaction to are conversation I pick up the menu next to me an slap it on table 20 mins later I ask for another drink!!!!! The waitress before serving me a drink she asked if I was going to behave my self and not be a disturbance. Because of the menu thing. 12 people gather to play pool. 1 table having dinner sine 800 and this was around 9. Who was I disturbing the 6 players I invited to there tournament or the one couple eating at there table ??? Before!!! And !!!! After the menu. (Thing) Point is, if a local for many years can’t be treated as well as all the college kids. Than why should I ever take my local family and friends there for dinner,, Why would you have invited me to your tournament , (if you think my private conversation)(that no one else heard are voices ). Would offend someone if I made a little slap of the menu I will be on the fence about this matter for some time. Maybe not the establishment,,,,,,,,,,,, maybe the staff like most places today. It hard to chew but, very well be the truth. Nevertheless where you spend your time and money is not my choice!!!!! But BUD JACKSON may not be my first choice after this evening?????????? I will reach out to the owner and repost a review with in 7 days after my findings!!!!...
Read moreWow! My wife and were traveling through and stopped for a bite to eat and I have to say was one of the best meals out I have had in a long time!
My wife had the Black and Blu salad. It was very fresh and had tons of steak in it - a very generous portion all the way around.
I had the fish tacos and a cup of their homemade chili. Fish tacos are often a very hit or miss item. The staff said they were good and very popular - I see why. They are made with Tilapia (usually not my favorite for fish tacos) but instead of the fish being fried and soggy it was, I think grilled and almost shredded. Sounds weird, but the seasoning and preparation were outstanding. Instead of using corn tortillas they used flour, soft taco size that were grilled. The result was something that held up very well to the typical juiciness of fish tacos. They of course had the typical cabbage, Pico de Gio and a spicey, creamy sauce. You get three tacos and they were very large by fish taco standards. I also have the chili which was very meaty and flavorful. It was ground beef based with beans and fresh Jalapeños. For some it may be a touch spicy but man, it was right up my alley! To my liking it could have stood a touch more liquid. Not to make it runny but it would have helped to make it even better.
Bottom line, we loved it! We cook at home a lot and are pretty discerning on eating out but would make this place a regular eating out spot if we lived in the...
Read moreMy husband and I were in town and decided to try this place. Usually we just get fast food but opted to treat ourselves.
I had the Mountaineer burger, which us similar to Carl's Jr.'s Western Bacon Cheeseburger, but better. Soooooo much better! I opted for the thin cut fries (other choices were waffle fries or tater tots) and added a house salad. It's clear they make their own croutons, which were seasoned with something I couldn't quite identify. I was unsure about them but as I ate my salad the flavors blended together wonderfully.
My burger was so delicious! It was served on a ciabatta bun with very dilly-y pickles, red onion, and tomato on the side. The pickles were a bit different tasting so I didn't eat them. The juice had soaked into the onion so I was hesitant to add that to my burger, but just as with the salad the flavors melded together to make the burger even more delicious. I kind of wish I had put the pickles on the burger after all!
My husband had the marinated steak bites which were generously sized individually and as a portion. He said they were very good.
The décor and atmosphere are typical sports pub. Everything was clean including the bathrooms. The service was good and we had no wait as the lunch time crowd had cleared by the time we went in and there were just a few patrons.
We definitely enjoyed our visit there and would return. I'd like to try pretty much everything...
