Awful service. Mediocre food. Ordered an avocado toast with egg and a breakfast sandwich. It was over $23. We waited waited waited waited. Another 4 people order as a group maybe a whole 5 minutes after us. They order 4 breakfast sandwiches. We wait some more. I see the guy who took our order now making 4 breakfast sandwiches. Clearly understaffed. Another girl comes up to help him. I go check in to see where our food is since it had been 30 minutes. She responds your sandwiches should be out shortly. I say we did not order sandwiches those look like they are for the group that ordered after us. The guy then directs her attention to our ticket, making it quite obvious he forgot our order. She says we are working on it. Another 10 whole minutes go by. The group of 4 is now halfway done with their food. They finally bring food over, no apology for the wait or acknowledgement that our food was forgotten. The guy had an arrogance about him like he owed us nothing, just threw his hair back and walked away. The egg and ham breakfast sandwich was made with deli meat. It was honestly disgusting and not worth $14. My avocado toast was fine I guess in comparison. They forgot the feta that it comes with and I asked for over medium egg on top. The guy when I ordered it said “yeah thats how we cook them” and it absolutely arrived to me over hard. We waited 40 minutes. Would...
Read moreI've had several things from here so will review a few. The Mufelleta is good and pretty close to a real New Orleans Mufelleta. The scones & chocolate chip muffin is good and the muffin is gluten free. Also I had granola & yogurt and that was yummy too. Bagel or toast with jam is a bit weird because they smush the Bagel or toast for some reason. They have 2 main counters- one for coffee and ice cream and the other for food. There is an efficiency here but also a bit confusing as far as tips are concerned so I usually give the tip to the food order. Maybe they pool tips. Also I didn't eat all the food mentioned above on one occasion, this was over the course of a week. I highly recommend The Local if you're hungry for breakfast or lunch in La...
Read moreI walked across the street from The Landing Hotel to grab a milkshake and a sweet treat.
The Local offers handmade ice cream, pastries, tea, coffee, and sandwiches.
I ordered a Blue Moon Milkshake (raspberry & other flavors), a pecan huckleberry scone and a piece of banana bread.
It was busy and I received my milkshake in about ten minutes
The milkshake was thick and had great taste.
The scone and banana bread were both very moist and not really sweet.
I enjoyed the the fun atmosphere of The Local and came back the the next day for a raspberry Italian Soda.
Located on Adams Street in La Grande across from The Landing Hotel.
