Carmen's Bakery — Restaurant in La Habra

I needed a cake at the last minute for my sons birthday. (Long story) lol....Anyway I called and asked if they had a Strawberry cake that I could come pick up? The man on the phone said yes. I drove over right away. As soon as I walked in I was greeted with a warm good afternoon. I stated I was the one that just called for the strawberry cake. Without hesitation the gentleman came out and pointed to the excellent looking cake. The man even asked me "what is it for a birthday or something special"? I didn't even have to tell him it was a special occasion. I told him it was for my sons birthday. The gentleman handed me a pen and said write his name down. I just expected them to write his name on the cake. When the lady brought the cake out you would have thought I ordered it! His name was written on it in red to coordinate with the strawberry. AND there was a nice birthday trinket that said happy birthday. AND there where 3 chocolate covered strawberries added! I was very pleased with the look. Now as far as the taste. Been going since I was young with my dad and the lady working there was always so kind to us and the cakes and everything was always so good I don't go as often anymore as I don't live around there anymore but any time I go back to la habra I make sure to stop by here and it just brings me back to my childhood and the cakes are as delicious as always! I sometimes wish they had a recipe book so I could have their pastries at home...

We used to recomended this place all the time for the good quality of bread, cake and others. So good, so fresh and well worthed to pay for the price. Still Rosca our favorite love it! Can't give them a 5 because over the years it started changing flavor of daily bread. Bolillos are not my favorite any more. They taste same as teleras and over price. I still like cakes...
