In the spirit of an honest review, I left one star off for atmosphere. This is a new business and they're tweaking layout and AC issues. The service and food were beyond phenomenal.
From the outside, Rachel's bakehouse is unassuming and doesn't set very high expectations. Once you're inside, that immediately changes. We were instantly greeted by David and wafting smells from the kitchen.
He patiently helped us work through what to order and made suggestions. Our food was promptly brought to the table, clearly freshly made. There is so much pride in service and food here. All baked items are made in house and are top notch. Sauces are primarily sourced from another awesome local business. Everything is super high quality and so wildly delicious. Read moreThis is a true neighborhood bakery and I will echo, a hidden gem! The owners have been baking European pastries since the 90's and it absolutely shows in the taste and quality! Flaky on the outside and soft on the inside. Not too sweet, but just enough to satisfy a sweet tooth. They have daily freshly baked country bread and sourdough, and these make incredible sandwiches. It's wonderful to have a change in baked goods in our neighborhood and the North OC area.
