On 12/24/22 our little family thought it would be a good idea to go out and have brunch seeing we had to go out anyway. We decided that Christos has good biscuits and gravy and is near the store we were heading to. We got there and ordered. My wife ordered a Mexican Skillet with eggs over easy. (The menu said it came with two eggs) she ordered them over Easy. I along with my mother ordered biscuits and gravy (menu also said for an additional fee of $1.30 we could revive two eggs made to order) which we both ordered sunny side up. my son had French toast.
After waiting for the food we received our order and my wife’s eggs(2) were burnt her cheese was cold and not melted. My mother and I did not receive any eggs. We motioned for the waitress who in turn attempted to correct the issue. She brought out three separate plates each with a single egg on it. All over easy. We had to complain again as this was incorrect and we were short three eggs in total. She brought over the owner who said additional eggs only come one at a time. Nothing receives two eggs. In her own words “our skillets have always only come with one eggs” she said “I’ll remove this from your bill and give you a ten dollar gift card for future use” then five minutes later she comes back over and said “I decided I’m not giving you a gift card but I’ll remove it from the bill” so although we had no need for a gift card you don’t tell someone your going to do something and not do it. Furthermore you should honor your menu. So as we started to make our way to the hostess to check out. Along the way I picked up a menu and seen the owner and pointed out to her the items we ordered and their description. Her reply was simple “so what, thanks for pointing it out. Have a nice day”
She was probably one of the rudest individuals I’ve encountered in the food industries. She is apparently the owner so it makes it that much worse.
Why not just honor your menu. God knows the cooks got the count right the first time but maybe they...
Read moreFoods really good but getting really pricey.. Been eating at Christos restraunts 50 years now.( NO MORE) Main problem is the absolute worst waitress I've ever had. Asked for lemon for my water 5x still didnt get it even after she wrote it down. When your trained waitress finally broght the lemon wedge she tossed it on the table all huffy like it was a major inconvenience for her. Then she wants to argue with me about what dinner includes and what costs extra. I show her menu and what it says.she still wants to charge me extra for whats to be included. They say menu has changed and now theres an extra charge. Manager says Sorry we have not updated our menus showing extra charges. At this point i canceled my order and my 2go order for my wife. My daughters dish came out waitress never brought the soup. Asked for soup again then she forgot the rolls. Kinda waitress 101. Bring drinks take order bring soup and rolls then dinner.. Last time there same order 3 dinners na togo soup $57 and they want to charge extra..THIS IS CUSTOMER SERVICE????SO IT'S KINDA WE CHARGE WHATEVER WE WANT THE MENU PRICES ARE NOT CORRECT!!! Sure can tell the Christos family sold the restraunts. Bet their wishing they had taken their honorable family name off of them.RESPONSE. I am 57 and ate with my mother & father at the Christos in Highland Indiana as a child. I was not 27 as a child. Maybe your Laporte location is 30yrs old. I did not curse out your server. I canceled my 2 orders came to desk talked paid my daughters bill " said I won't be back" and left your restraunt. I was in my vehicle when your distraught server brought my daughter's dinner.no soup or rolls yet. She finally brings soup. No rolls. Finally brings rolls. Sounds like good training to me..Never had a bad experience ever until today at a Christos or Round the clock location. Seems like GREED runs your places now not...
Read moreFirst off, Christos has the same owners as Round The Clock...I used to order take out from Round The Clock until the food turned into garbage, they forgot items and the serving sizes became small. We started going to Christos for take out within the last few years and when we started the first few times were really good, portion size was fine, they didn't forget anything. As time has gone on, the portion sizes for take out are RIDICULOUSLY small, they forget items, if you order salad they give you soup or if you order soup they give you salad and if you order soup and specify which one, they give you WHAT THEY CHOOSE, not your choice. I have ordered the chop steak when it has been a special because it was good. It used to be a decent size portion but TODAY they gave me a piece the size of a small hamburger with a tiny scoop of mashed potato...I ordered salad and they gave me soup...really? I called and the lady that answered the phone acted like she was dumb and said... "Well I don't know why he would give you soup instead of salad?" WELL I can tell you why...BECAUSE YOUR STAFF DON'T PAY ATTENTION and because YOUR MANGERS DON'T MANAGE! AND YOUR PRICES GO UP BUT YOUR QUALITY AND PORTIONS GO DOWN...YOUR SERVERS WANT TIPS but if they forget something or get something wrong why would anyone want to leave a tip. So here is my tip...PAY ATTENTION TO WHAT PEOPLE ORDER!! YOUR COOKS ALSO NEED TO STOP SERVING SLOP! Take out food SHOULD LOOK NO DIFFERENT then what you serve on plates for sit down guests...PERIOD! On that note, I will no longer be patronizing CHRISTOS OR ROUND THE CLOCK....IF THEY DON'T CARE, WHY SHOULD I...They obviously don't need my money...the negative reviews are numerous (take time to read through them and see for yourself) so I'm not the...
