Carnaby St. Fish & Chips — Restaurant in La Puente

Been going here for years. Yes, cash only (ATM next door). They have tables but it gets so crowded just take it home and eat it. You can order 1 fish and chips or 6 fish and chips or just fish alone. The fish is fresh, flaky and hot. I usually get malt vinegar for my fish (ask for it). I love the shrimp cocktail to dip my fries in, nice amount of horseradish in it. They do clams, shrimp, scallops and oysters with chips. They have not only fries but zucchini as well. Can't go wrong with the lunch special of shrimp and fries. WARNING: This place is PACKED on the Fridays of Lent and Ash Wednesday. They take the phone off the hook and lines are LONG! Come by 4:30pm or you'll be waiting! I have waited over 45 minutes for my fresh, hot fish when I get there after 4:45pm. ...

They make everything on the spot, the food came out so freshly hot. the portion is definitely enough with huge pieces of fish and shrimps with side of tar tar sauce and shrimp cocktail sauce. I loooove the the shrimp cockail sauce. It has a sweet taste to it. I enjoyed everything, so crispy and well flavored.

We came and there are few people ordered ahead of us, but we still got our food pretty quickly. Not a huge place to dine in but tables are available inside and outside.

LIttle hole in the wall, great fish or shrimp and chips, was near bye 3 days a week for physical therapy, we had lunch there at least every other time. I really miss the great shrimp and huge pieces of fish better than mom made them. not the greatest neighbor Hood, but was very pleased with the community living and working there. will return soon as I'm in the neighbor Hood for another...
