Dot's Cakes — Restaurant in La Quinta

I was very excited to be using this business for my daughter’s birthday party. I called Dot and placed an order for a chocolate unicorn cake with strawberries. I paid $130 for the cake and Dot told me to pick it up at her bakery around 10 am the morning of. Well, the morning of the party came. So I called Dot to ask if I could swing by. SHE HAD NO RECORD OF MY ORDER. Not only did she have no cake for me, but she wasn’t even in town, so she couldn’t give me anything she had on hand. She refunded me my money and I had to drive around La Quinta looking for a business that had cakes appropriate for a kids birthday party. I had to get my girl a Walmart cake. It was beyond disappointing. I spent so much money on decorations and bouncy castles and balloons. And to have no cake for the party besides a stale gross Walmart cake, well, it was bad. This business owner does not keep records or have a proper system to keep track of orders. She does not run her business with integrity or care. Do not use this business. I can’t say...

THANK YOU DOT for making such an amazing cake for my husband's milestone birthday. IF YOU ARE LOOKING for what will be the most memorable cake for your celebration - DOT is the one. If I could give her 10 stars - I would as 5 isn't high enough. She worked with me for a while as we came up with the perfect design for my hubby's cake. Then, she went out of her way to meet me in the evening so I could pick up the cake - what service! Now...the taste...OMG!! We were eating this cake for 4 days after the event because it was so good. Dot made the most AMAZING cake after I called her with a last minute request for my husband’s birthday. Not only was she able to accommodate my request, but she went above and beyond with the customization. He loves pickleball and Dot was able to recreate my husband’s exact paddle with fondant (and the cutest pickleball made of Rice Krispies and fondant) for the decoration. He was blown away!!
