Happy Mango Bakery — Restaurant in La Vista

I made a special order for my husband’s retirement ceremony after serving the U.S Air force for 20 years. I made the order a MONTH and a half in advance. I provided picture evidence of what I wanted. A quote was sent to me with the price of $248 (that I paid in full immediately after receiving for a two tiered cake and a dozen sugar cookies.) The day I picked up the cake, the cake was wrapped in a box and I was only able to see the top, I requested the owner to please open the box so I could see the cake in which she replied that the cake was wrapped and I would be able to see a picture of it. I agreed and when I saw the picture, I noticed the cake had tears in the fondant and I asked why were there tears. I was told the fondant was stretched too much and was attempted to get fixed, but if it was messed with too much they were scared it was going make the rips worse. Since I was already running late for the party, I took the cake home. The owner helped me put the cake safely in my car and when I came home to unbox it, the cake was leaning to the left a tremendous amount. The fondant was torn horrible, and the overall look of the cake was not what I requested. I contacted the owner again to send her pictures of the cake which she replied that she would come to my house to fix it. She came to my house and told me she didn’t have what was necessary to fix it and needed to take it back manually and fix it. This was around 1:30 pm and my party was set to be at 3:30 pm. I called Megan, the owner, that the party started soon and it needed to be back quick where she informed me she would return it beforehand. She in fact did not come early and was 15 minutes late. When she came back the cake looked better than before, not at all what I paid for but better. As the party went on it was time to cut the cake and to my surprise it was raw inside. My guests did not eat the cake and the party favors were ruined. I contacted her again and sent her pictures of the raw cake and told me she would refund me the money if I returned the rest of the cake. The next morning when I went to return it, I was surprised to only be receiving 50% of my refund which was completely to my surprise. My overall experience with this company was absolutely terrible. I should have received a full refund for a cake that was completely inedible and not at all what was sent or ordered. I will never be seeking business with this company again nor will close...

Cannot give enough credit to this bakery for going above & beyond for me as a customer. First time customer at that. I messed up and booked the wrong date for my daughter’s birthday cake for her party (the day of). Heading to get the cake I had thought that I booked with my typical cake lady, I realized I made a huge mistake and booked the cake a week out from the party I was just minutes away from attending. In panic mode I started googling every bakery open and near by. The party was in the early am hours, so options were limited. I literally needed an Alice in Wonderland themed cake on EXTREMELY short notice. Literally two hours. I figured I’d have the cake made as the three hour party was going in to have by the last hour of the party. Everywhere I called was unable to make this extremely short cake/cupcakes happen for me. Mind you also within a budget of what I originally anticipated paying my cake lady. This was the only bakery who was able to take on the challenge. With an upbeat and enthusiastic attitude! It’s evident that they take their customers happiness into consideration. They made me one HAPPY customer!! Highly highly recommend! They made such a panic filled situation, at ease. We ordered a chocolate cake and lemon and strawberry cupcakes for my daughter’s birthday party. I am infamous for always having beautiful cakes for my daughter’s birthday and this was the best tasting cake we have ever had. The consistency of the chocolate cake was so moist and melt on your mouth. My husband who doesn’t like sweets came back for seconds and thirds. Everyone asked where I got the cake! On top of an amazing cake the customer service was also great. I sent in a request and they called me and we got the order all figured out over the phone.
