Koi Sushi & Chinese — Restaurant in Lacey Township

TL;DR: They mix all sushi in the same container—even vegetable, fish, and shellfish rolls—without disclosure, which is dangerous for allergy sufferers. Their staff was dismissive and even laughed when I raised concerns. They told me to come get 2 new rolls and then 2 hours later I got a receipt in my email for the 2 replacement rolls... But the card they charged, wasn't even mine lol.

I placed a large order with vegetable rolls, fish rolls, and shellfish rolls. I have a shellfish allergy, which is why I ordered vegetable rolls. When I got home, I discovered that the shellfish rolls had been packed in the same container as my vegetable rolls. I nearly ate it.

When I called, their response was that “every restaurant does this” and that I should have specifically requested separate containers—even though the rolls were not part of a combo. They refused to acknowledge the risk or post any notice on their website about this policy. I have confirmed with multiple people that the resturants they get their sushi from DOES NOT do this.

I returned to pick up a replacement order, and they again dismissed my concerns. They laughed when I explained that mixing the rolls could have been life-threatening. To make matters worse, the receipt for the replacement order shows that the wrong card was charged.

If your favorite Chinese food has started to disappoint you with higher prices and lower quality foods, you need to give Koi Sushi & Chinese a try! They offer the BEST Chinese I've had in years. I had Beef with Garlic Sauce, Hot & Sour Soup and Pork Fried Rice that are the best I've ever tasted. They don't skimp on the quality of ingredients and prepare their dishes with the great taste that so many restaurants are cutting corners with to save money while raising prices at the same time. Meals are served hot and fresh so they taste like the Chinese food you remember. Full FIVE STARS from me...

We were so excited to have a new place to order taje out. We've ordered take out twice. The first time we were very dissatisfied with the sushi we ordered. We decided to wait a few weeks and try again, sushi and hot food, disappointed as well. Sushi, seems like someone untrained is making the rolls. The dumplings were SO thick both times. Sweet and sour sauce was very thin and flavorless. Overall just not great flavor or execution. We will opt for some of our other "usual" places. Hopefully they can work out...
