After a tug of war as to whose Thai restaurant we were going to visit, our friends won out. I went begrudgingly - I am extraordinarily picky about my Thai cuisine and not many establishments fit the bill. Diho Siam, I am delighted to report, is now one of my favorites. Excellent Thai is not only a product of complex flavors but texture and aroma. Diho Siam understands such complexities and delivers on all accounts - amply! Did my dinner arrive at breakneck speed? No. Did I want it to? Emphatically NO! Any Thai that arrives quickly is Fast Food - speed and Thai is an oxymoron of no small proportion. Frequently the fresher and more flavorful the Thai dish, the longer the wait - a wait I cannot wait to experience again soon. I've read a few reviewers who appear to better suited for Jack-In-Box than superior fare. Service is more than a swift plate to the table; it's about heart, kindness, respect and accommodativeness (now there's a mouthful...). It's also knowing one's product inside and out, and the varied nuances of the dishes offered. Our service was exceptional in every degree. Diho Siam has it all: convenient location, ample parking, a quaint setting, excellent service, an wide array of selections, reasonable prices, and simply one of the best I've ever had the distinct pleasure of tasting. If you're one of those who are accustomed to chain Thai shops and appear to have a stronger relationship with your Smart Phone than the friends sitting across from you, avoid Diho Siam - you're simply not ready for the finer joys of life. However, if authenticity is your thing, where relaxing and enjoying the company of others is a priority in your life, Diho Siam will be your small oasis after a long day of toil. Maybe I'll see you...
Read moreI wanted to love this place, really I did. I was so excited to see the good reviews... i'm desperate for good chinese food near me, but man does it lack. Tried twice and been disappointed both times. The wife seems to like the curry which I got to go...but the bbq pork was truly awful. As in go home to brush my teeth to get the taste out of my mouth awful. Service is poor. Had to flag down servers for literally every interaction, i.e. ready to order, needing water, tired of sitting there for 10 minutes with an entree I didn't even want to eat and just wanted my check so I can leave. They don't seem to care either. Server asked if I wanted a to go container and I told her no, I didn't enjoy the entree. I got an "ok" and she walked away. Not, "could I get you something else" or even an "i'm sorry you didn't enjoy you meal". Stellar service, truly fantastic. Wasn't even all that busy so no real...
Read moreWe ordered the Pad Thai, Thai Fried Rice, Satay, and Mango Sticky Rice. The food was delicious, with flavorful dishes, generous portions, and very reasonable prices. I’d even say it was cheap considering the serving size. Everything we ordered was great for sharing and definitely satisfied our Thai food craving.
However, the service left something to be desired. We arrived about 40 minutes before closing, and when we walked in, the front staff didn’t greet us or offer a menu. When we asked a few questions, his demeanor felt unwelcoming and disinterested. It wasn’t rude, but it lacked the warmth we usually associate with Thai hospitality.
It was a bit disappointing, especially after being so excited to find a Thai spot. The food was great, but the overall experience would have been better with a more welcoming attitude...
