Cottage Inn — Restaurant in Lady Lake

First time here, told to sit wherever we would like, went to a smaller of three tables because only two of us, but the air vent was pumping and it was super cold so we moved to a bigger table. We were told we could not sit there. So someone happened to leave a smaller table in the front so we moved there. We did not have a set server. We are approached by three separate servers at three different times asking us if we were ready to order and had not even had the menu for 60 seconds. Very chaotic since apparently they don’t work the restaurant normally. All of the servers are doing all things and all tables and run around like a chicken with their head cut off. So not sure which we would be basing out tip on. Food was out fast and it was okay. Had biscuit and gravy. Gravy was thick and biscuit was dry And slightly dark on the bottom. Just not a comfortable experience for a local home cooked breakfast. Not horrible but not good....

I really enjoyed Cottage Inn. It's right on 441, next to a small Barber and one of my new favorite Mom & Dad's restaurant. This restaurant is not very large in size however, it was spotlessly clean and decorated for the upcoming holiday, Valentines day, very cute. They have male and female bathrooms which were spotless as well. The menu is 4 pages with many comfort food favorites available. They serve a wonderful large breakfast, only until 11 am. For lunch/early dinner, they have all of your regular Comfort foods such as: meatloaf, roast beef, hamburgers etc, all served with your choice of sides. The food came out extremely fast. Perhaps my favorite part was our lovely waitress she brought the food very fast, she was helpful in choosing what to order, filled our drinks several times and stopped back at our table four or five times to see if everything was great. This is my first time here and probably my last. It was a very slow time of day about 1:30 and they were more interested in cleaning up than anything else. the servers kept talking about their personal lives and were trying to clear dishes off my table before I was finished eating so the dishwasher could go home. Although the food was good, for the same price I could have gone to Wolfie's restaurant and got the same dish as an all-you-can-eat special. Although there is plenty of dining and the restaurant is clean I just didn't really care for it. On top of that, when I asked for dessert selection, they said they didn't have any.
