Horrible Restaurant Went here today with family from New Mexico and Texas after daughters UL graduation & had the worst service and attitude from the manager than ANY other restaurant in my life… Matthew and his co-worker (short with glasses) were very ugly from the time we walked in. It was 3 people and waiting on the rest of our family to arrive from the Cajun Dome… We sat at a table that had 6 seats under a disgusting air intake with dirt hanging from it and probably would have needed more space if all of the family showed up… We were instructed by the short server who’s name I never got but anyway he said they wouldn’t take our order because we didn’t have enough people sitting at this particular table although he never even asked if we had anyone else joining us. He was very rude and embarrassing as one of our out of state family members was with us. We asked for management and Matthew came out like he was ready to battle over a restaurant that had NO other customers in it. I’m definitely NEVER going to go back and will tell everyone that I know how terrible we were treated by these two people. This is South Louisiana and business like this don’t need to be here if they don’t have the good old southern hospitality. I hope they make a change in their staff or they will go out of business. Old Time Grocery Poboys we’re definitely nice, welcoming and most of all the Poboy’s were amazing. All in all I guess it worked out for the best because I found a Poboy much better than...

We pickup regularly and dine in from time to time at the Pinhook location and the food is great, but, this evening was a major fail! We ordered 2-Large gumbos and 1 potato salad for pick-up. They package pick-up orders in a bag and staple it shut. I assume this is to minimize the chance of spilling in the car, but, it also means checking the order is less convenient, and they usually get it right, anyway. Tonight, our order was missing the potatoe salad and one of the cups of rice. Also, we ordered large gumbos, and the containers were a little over half full, which is less than normal, but, that wasn't too bad. Here's the cherry on top for tonight. I had opened the bag, pulled the gumbo containers out, removed the lids, and poured into bowls. As I was eating my serving, I bit down on what I thought was a bone, but, it turned out that I had bit down on a freaking staple! I know with 100% certainty that I did not accidentally drop a staple from the bag into the gumbo. I had pulled both containers out with the lids in place and pulled them open from one side, so anything that might be on top of the lids would not fall into the container. Get it together because tonight's experience was pathetic and reeks of a lack of attention and laziness! What if I had swallowed the staple? ...and I always tip, even on pick-up orders. I feel like I just got screwed...

We stopped at Chris poor boys for lunch. This restaurant has a cozy ambiance everyone there were very friendly and hospitable. Our waiter Max was the best, he has great customer service and hospitality. We ordered a cup of chicken and sausage gumbo it was really fresh and tasty. We also ordered the muffffaletta, we asked how big it was because we were sharing it he told us it was big. He wasn't lying it was huge. It came with chips and a kosher pickle. The bread which comes from a local bakery is topped with sesame seeds it's warm crispy on the outside soft on the inside the fresh meats and cheese were accompanied with the fresh olive relish that didn't over power but gave it its pizzazz. That 1st bite just makes you smile wow, now thats the money bite. I am not a muffaletta expert but that was one of the best sandwiches I have ever had. I will definitely be back this will be one of my go to places when in Lafayette. 5 full...

5.17.24 I came to this PoBoy spot for the first time around 6 P.M. There were quite a few people, but there wasn't much of a wait for food to come out. The service from our waitress was really good, and that is where the top-notch ratings come from. Overall, I hated the fried shrimp Poboy. The shrimp didn't taste good...and to have what seemed like a "pressed" PoBoy...was just not appealing or appetizing to me. The bread was not good at all. If I wasn't starving and had a place to be afterwards, it would have gone into the trashcan. The steak fries need to be passed up, too. I am sticking to Olde Tyme poboys. Good chocolate chip cookies!

While I have had poboys from other places around the country, it would have been negligent of me to come to Louisiana and not try one from here. I ordered two different types of Poboys. The shrimp was excellent. A little heavier on the mayo than I would have liked, but that's a preference. The sausage poboy was not great at all! The meat itself just didn't taste like there was any effort into flavoring it. Another customer told me that she felt the same way about the sausage. I would try this restaurant again just to try their other Poboy styles.

This was my first time coming to Chris's. We came early enough on a weekday afternoon that it was pretty empty. That didn't last long. Th he menu is small. I chose a moufaletta. I don't know what everything else tastes like and probably never will. I am so honored on their moufaletta, I'd say it rivals Central Grocery's. Serving it hot makes it amazing. It was so good in fact, I went back 3 days later and got a whole one to take home to share for dinner. Prices are good. Service was good as well. I'll definitely be back!
