Locals need to get out more. While passing thru Burns OR. we decided to stop and get Mexican food for dinner. Well the restaurant was about to close, so we asked for our order to go. I had a special request of no onions or lettuce on my steak burrito. This should have been a simple request for a $20 burrito. Not only did I get onions on my burrito, but there were so many it was frustrating to eat. The cook needs to learn proper plating skills. He/she put the rice, beans, avocado, sour cream and pico de gallo in/on the burrito instead of on the side??? It made for a real mess. It wasn't possible to eat it without a knife and fork. They dont offer queso at all??? The beans had a sour taste to them like there is lemon or lime in them. This too made the burrito unpleasant to eat. The atmosphere was small town cafe at best and really needs updating. The staff was pleasant but absent for most of the 15 minutes we waited for the order, that we called in 10 minutes before arriving. Our total order was an asada burrito, nachos and two sodas. The bill was nearly $45 before a tip. I would not recommend this place based on my personal experience. I don't like giving low reviews, but I need to be honest for the sake of others. $50 with a tip was definitely too much for the quality of the food and service...
Read moreExcellent Service & Delicious Food ~ We were acknowledged and seated immediately. The decor has been given a much needed update. I love that they put in a bar which serves amazing delicious affordable drinks in authentic pottery bowls and cups. We were served tons of chips and salsa. The chips were warm and delicious I believe we at 3 baskets. When we sheepishly asked for more we were greeted with a smile and promptly served without hesitation. My husband ordered the El Toro Burger which he said was really juicy with tons of poblano peppers, jalapeños and cheese. I had the Del Toro Enchilada with cream sauce plater served with beans and rice. We both finished our meal leaving no leftovers. This is rare for me I usually only eat half. El Toro is a great addition to our little town. We will be...
Read moreWe definitely lucked out! We were planning to go somewhere else for dinner, but they closed early, so we decided to try out El Toro. We were not disappointed at all! My husband and I both had a Cadillac margarita, which was recommended to us. At first, we thought it was a bit pricey, but it was worth every penny! Delicious, and it lasted the whole meal! When our food arrived, it was AMAZING! He got the fajita burrito, and I got the pollo a la crema, and both were fantastic! We highly recommend this place! We had an amazing time, and the service was excellent! I look forward to...
