Long-winded review warning!!! Yikes. I already left a one star review several weeks ago, but wanted to give them another chance. Unfortunately this was the last straw and I won't be back, which is sad because I really like the food and atmosphere ☹️ Came with a group of girlfriends during happy hour (one hour until happy hour ended). Only 1 special menu available in the entire restaurant, according to the waitress, and it was all out of date, so we pulled it up on our phones instead. I ordered shrimp tacos with coleslaw as my entree, and from the happy hour menu I ordered the cheese plate and chimichurry fries. The fries were delicious as were the tacos. Loved the batter and spice of the shrimp! The coleslaw was dry and tasted of onions...clearly not fresh. The cheese plate (which increased in price by $5 since my last visit) had fewer things on it than when it was cheaper, the fried haloumi was cold 🫤, and the manchego was served with the rind--and I don't mean the edge of the slice had the rind, as is normal. I mean the entire slice WAS the rind, conveniently turned over when served so that it was hidden from sight. Then my friend H ordered a French 75 from the happy hour menu ($6) but was charged $10. When H questioned the waitress, she said "sorry, the menu is out of date." H then explained that she ordered it from the menu online, not the out of date hard copy, and the answer was still "sorry, it's out of date." H didnt want to press further, so that was the end. That waitress should have refunded her. There's no excuse for an online specials menu to be out of date, furthermore, they DO update it when they change the dates each week. If the price advertised is "wrong," then that's POURs fault. I get that everything is more expensive these days, and I have no issue paying more for something, provided that it's the SAME dish (not fewer components). If you're advertising one price online for a frequently updated menu, don't charge a different price for the item.
TLDR: there are PLENTY of excellent restaurants in this city more worthy...
Read moreI think I found a hidden gem in Lafayette. My dear friend wanted to bring me out to celebrate my birthday. We drove from Alexandria la to Lafayette today. We walked in, and a server said we could find an empty seat. We were greeted by our server and ordered drinks and appetizers. My drinks were a coke and an espresso martini. My espresso was made to perfection. Our appetizers were the BBQ BACON WRAPPED SHRIMP..... Bacon wrapped shrimp in a savory NOLA style butter BBQ sauce which was delicious. We also ordered the BRISKET FRIES. Smoked brisket, pepperjack, cheddar, Cajun BBQ, chipotle aioli, and green onion. I swear those cheese fries were the best cheese fries I've ever eaten in my entire natural born life. Wow wow wow. I sat in shock about how good they were. We ordered our entrees I ordered the GRILLED CHICKEN BREAST...... Chargrilled chicken breast,', with grilled veggie medley and roasted fingerling potatoes. It was so delicious. My friend ordered the REDFISH VERMILION. Grilled redfish topped with crawfish etoufee, served with chargrilled asparagus. I tasted some of her dish. It was yummy as well. Our server was nice and kind and treated us well as he maintained the bar. The atmosphere was laid back and it seemed everyone enjoyed being there. It was our first time and we definitely...
Read moreI wouldn't go back. When we first got there, I thought wow, nice atmosphere, community, etc. We sat at the bar and immediately realized we had no cell service when I tried to check untappd for beer ratings...not the end of the world, but we had somewhere to go after so tried to check Google maps to see how far away we were...nothing worked. WiFi was showing a guest network but the bartender wasn't too friendly and said "no unfortunately we don't have wifi". Again, things could be worse, so we immediately ordered our food and beers so we could eat and go...and for a place called POUR, not a great beer selection, cocktails and wine list looked decent, so maybe that's what people come for? The food took longer than expected but they were pretty busy. Had the chicken club which was just ok, the truffle fries were good. We got a box and asked for the check since we were now in a hurry. There was an extra beer on our tab that we didn't have so he had to redo it...he apologized but overall not a...
