This place need the guy from Bar Rescue. My brother and I went on a slow night, early. We've never had service this poor, and he's from DC, I'm from DFW. I've been to some lame eateries. The bartender was extremely unpleasant -- no suggestions after explaining three items on the beer/ale list were out and then walking away. My brother mused when she eventually returned that he MIGHT want a sandwhich. She went off without acknowledging him and didn't ask me what I wanted at all, which is the STRANGEST encounter I've ever had anywhere. I write strange; I mean rude. I was served a Delilirum with no glass, no even suggestion of a glass -- unheard of for any place presuming to call itself a taphouse. My brother finally got up and ASKED if I could place my dinner order. My sandich came before his (?) and he ended up ordering the oysters anyway since he never really wanted the sandwich.
Final vote: save your money and go somewhere with good service. This place is an embarrassment to the name of Southern hospitality. :-0 Oh, and I've never felt strongly anough about a place to write a negative review. This...
Read moreWhen I first heard about this place after it opened I was very excited that Lafayette was getting a bar with a real focus on draft beer. But after about a half a dozen or so visits I'm very disappointed with this place. The staff knows absolutely NOTHING about beer or how its supposed to be served properly, and on more than one occasion I've gotten beer that was past its prime served to me.
You'd think a place with 40+ taps would have some interesting beers on tap, but not this place. They have mostly American and Euro macro lagers and the small handful of American craft beers they have are not bad, but are also not very interesting and easy to find elsewhere(Abita, Sierra Nevada Pale Ale, Lazy Magnolia Southern Pecan).
For a bar with this many taps you'd think they'd have more to appeal to the beer geeks in the area but they don't. Sadly, Albertson's supermarket has a better selection of craft beer than...

We were not greeted when we walked in the door. There was no direction on if we should go to the bar to order or sit at the table and wait. We decided to go to a table and feel it out for a bit. The table was so wobbly we were nervous to sit at it so we moved over to the one beside it which wasn't much better. The bar area was somewhat busy but not slammed. One server was chatting it up with a guy at the end of the bar and I assumed when She was done, she would come our way and greet us. However she did not. She walked to the back and that was that. The two bartenders would look at us occasionally but never said a word. After sitting there for a few minutes we decided that the "yall don't belong here" vibe was a tell tale sign of what the service would be like. So we decided on another venue. Judging from some of the other reviews, we aren't the only ones. Will not be back...
