Steven’s Fine Food & Seafood Market — Restaurant in Lafayette

Steven’s was a recommendation from a friend. Driving up to the restaurant, I got an iffy vibe. It has a small sketchy looking parking lot that didn’t look welcoming. Walking in, metal bars were on all the windows and door- this says something about the safety of the location. It was a great recommendation if you want an uncomfortable wait time sitting next to possible drug dealers. Not to mention, the bench to sit on was super sticky as if they never clean it. This type of place is the kind of place that you don’t want to make eye contact with any of the customers. The fried chicken here is better than Cane’s but worse than Popeye’s. The fried rice was a waste of money. It didn’t have good flavor and was more on the bland side. I’d say this place is below average, but you do get a lot of food for a decent price. You cannot find any better tasting chicken tenders in Lafayette. Full Stop! Their chicken tenders are large and well seasoned. A 10 piece chicken tenders platter with your choice of French fries or fried rice is 14.99. Great price for the amount of food. I'm not a fan of "sauce" like Canes where people have to drown those tee tiny tenders in goop to be able to eat them. The chicken tenders at Steven's taste great on their own! No need to drown them in a special sauce to give them flavor! The family that owns Steven's are hardworking people. The one and only reason I give them only 3 stars for atmosphere is that it's not always easy to find a parking spot and it can be a bit tricky get in and out of their parking lot. All in all, you cannot get better tasting food at such an affordable price anywhere in Lafayette. I highly recommend Steven's!...

The food is always delicious, the service is always courteous, BUT damn, some of the customers are just ridiculous. I waited for my food while a lady told them "Yall better hurry up with my food cause I gotta a baby in the car". She waited roughly 15 min and complained the whole time... Sure enough, she wasn't lying, an actual BABY was in the car by itself. That's not the restaurant's fault, but she wasn't the ONLY person that was purely insane there so..... Call your order in ahead to minimize...
