Today I had the most unprofessional experience. And it hurts to write this review However I have to say it. Brown’s Skillet Was My Favorite Go to Lunch Spot Needless to say NOT anymore. The issue that I encountered today was appalling. Up until today I frequented the Restaurant many occasions and the Younger Male Cashier Knows me by Name and had ALWAYS BEEN Polite, and Kind to me and also my Family. Today I ordered Fried Wings and the Breading on the chicken was Not up to standards in my opinion. As I begin eating I noticed that the chicken was slightly Overcooked so…I stop consuming the meal and I asked if the chicken can be Replaced with a different Protein of choice. The cashier goes in the back to speak with the owner and after a few moments came back to say that the owner REFUSED to Make it Right and that there was Nothing further that could be done. The owner couldn’t even come Speak to me himself or propose a Resolution. I felt Disrespected and I just left because I know how I was treated was NOT Right. I patronized this Business Many times and this was the Only time I had a issue with my order and How it was Handled was just shocking and disturbing. As a Small Business Owner my self and a Black Woman I Won’t be Back and I don’t recommend going here if Customers will be Treated like this in this fashion. God...
Read moreDuring my recent visit to downtown Lafayette, I had the pleasure of stopping by the Brown Skillet, a family-run gem that excels in crafting delicious, heartwarming meals.
The Brown family clearly has a knack for cooking, delivering delight with every bite. My son ordered the pancakes, a generous three-stack serving. He declared them the best he's ever had and has since expressed a desire to return every morning just for those pancakes.
Not to be outdone, I sampled the breakfast bowl, a harmonious blend of eggs, sausage, and grits. Each component was cooked to perfection, complementing the others magnificently and creating a dish that was both satisfying and flavorful.
I wholeheartedly recommend the Brown Skillet for breakfast, and I'm eagerly anticipating my next visit to explore their lunch offerings. If you're in Lafayette and in search of a cozy spot with amazing food, this place is...
Read moreThe customer service at this restaurant was above and beyond. It is not a fancy restaurant. Just a little cafeteria downtown. I went for red beans and rice. Even though I was dining in, it came in a to go box with plastic silverware. I’m guessing they do not have regular dinnerware and silverware. I was surprised to have a small salad and yummy piece of sponge cake. The food was very good, but the two cashiers were so exquisitely friendly with all green flags. They encouraged me to try the commended lemonade, but when I ordered a Coke offered a raspberry lemonade sample. It was delicious. Very...
