First visit but it won't be the last! Everything I had with the "Let's Eat" sampler was great. The brisket is the king here though!!! Update: I still haven't tried the beef ribs but it isn't due to a lack of effort. Next time I'll order ahead!

I'm finally getting around to doing the unthinkable here and this update is based on my experience trying to purchase the beef ribs. This review has nothing to do with the quality of the food that I have tried. It has nothing to do with the atmosphere as it is exactly what I expect aesthetically for a BBQ joint just about anywhere. As noted above the beef ribs have been very elusive for me. It was entertaining at first but now it has lost the fun factor. I understand the product being introduced slowly but I have been mislead too many times about how to obtain them. If I had been told from the start it will always be first come first served I would have no problem with that. After I heard about the beef ribs I knew I wanted to try them. Why not? I have enjoyed every item I have ever tried from Wardlaw's. Yes, some things more than others but good food and good people typically leaves little room for complaints. The first time I inquired about them I was advised they were already out. No problem at all with that response. I tried again and got the same response but was told to get there early. So I got there a little earlier the next time but still no luck but I was told if I would simply call ahead I could reserve them for pick up. I tried that method next. I know this place gets very busy so I kept trying to call to see if I could reserve some. The phone was busy continuously. Not a problem at all for me. I thought okay I'll try next weekend. This time I asked the wife to call as I was dropping her off at home while I planned to head there after a quick errand. She tried a few times with a busy signal but finally got a call to go through only to have someone pick up and hang up to clear the line. This is the first time I was frustrated and disappointed. I've experienced this before at other places but if you had told me this would happen here I would have sternly objected. Still up to the challenge I decided to wait again for another weekend. I thought about it and decided maybe a Thursday would be a slower day. I tried on a Thursday during the early time slot and sound out they are a dinner only item. I was not informed Thursday was excluded so I tried the following Thursday evening. It just worked out that way for me. Now I am advised it is only Friday and Saturday at dinner. I'm still up to the challenge so the next Saturday evening that I'm wanting these elusive beef ribs I decide I'll be there right at 5 pm when they open... So I get there and wait in the long line because you know they line up early to get in here. The food is that good to me and obviously many others. I get up to see Robert and ask for beef ribs and this time I'm told they are a dine in only item🤔? At this point I was really irritated. Maybe the process changed in between my visits? I still got my usual platter "Let's Eat" with brisket, pork ribs and pulled pork and added a sausage link. I'm telling you I love the food here but after thinking about the way this unfolded I haven't been back. Sadly, at this point I'm not going back again😥. I can make any of the meat items that I love from Wardlaw's but we all know it takes time and care to do it right. This was the one place I never regretted paying someone else to do it but I can't get over...

In town visiting family and I'm always on the lookout for good BBQ. My brother in-law recommended this place and it was well worth the trip.

We got there about fifteen minutes before they opened and the Wardlaw's faithful were already in line. Once the doors were opened the line went pretty quickly once we were inside.

Inside, the place looks like a pretty typical BBQ joint and smells absolutely delicious.

I ordered the Beef Rib plate with an extra jalapeno-cheddar sausage link. I chose corn on the cob and cheesy grits for my two sides.

My wife ordered the "Let's Eat" Sampler Platter to share with her mom. The three meats she chose were brisket, pulled pork, and the famous pork ribs. She chose green beans, baked beans, and cole slaw.

The beef rib, or steak on a stick as the guy cuttin' up the meat called it (who I later found out was the owner). This big hunk of meat was absolutely devine. So juicy, so moist, and packed with freakin' flavor!!! The sausage link was delicious as well...you don't find too many bbq joints servin' up housemade sausage from ground brisket now do 'ya?

I stole a few bites of brisket and pork from my wife's plate as well as a a rib. Those three meats were spot on, perfectly cooked - But the brisket! That brisket was the star of the sampler! Best. Brisket. Ever.

Another thing you don't find too much down this way is a bbq joint where beef is the star. Most places are more about the pork than the beef, but not here at Wardlaw's!

The sides were good, but let's face it...I didn't come here for some veggies.

Also, I used some sauce, but it certainly didn't need it. I stuck with the Georgia Blend since we're in Georgia. I jokingly told one of the team members that the sauces should be labeled as such:

Georgia Blend Georgia Blend With A Kick (kinda like Texas Blend, but we're in Georgia) Georgialina Blend (kinda like Carolina Blend, but we're in Georgia)

After reviewing the three pics that I took, it appears the pic I took of the food may have been a bit blurry and out of focus, so I will definitely have to come back to get another one.

Look, if you like BBQ and you find yourself in the northwest corner of Georgia...do yourself a favor and get out to Wardaw's Lucky Eye-Q! It's my humble, but highly accurate opinion, that you will NOT be disappointed.

Thank you Wardlaw's for servin' up some of the best Q I...

Overall really good - I had a great experience inside the restaurant aside from trying to find where to park where my vehicle wouldn't get towed. Inside the atmosphere was so lively and warm and the staff were great - I was greeted instantly, handed a menu, and directed efficiently to a separate register when I said I was there for carryout. The line of people for dine in was almost out the door affirming this place's reputation. I was given lots of great recommendations from the staff and decided to try their super sampler since it was my first time. The barbeque and sides were exquisite - to this the day the best mac and cheese and coleslaw I have ever had. The brisket was insanely tender, a little fatty but still enjoyable, and the pulled pork was just dripping with flavor and had a great texture.

My only issue and complaints were, one, the sausage was not great, which is sad because I was really looking forward to that. It was apparently prepared with some sort of cheese and while that can be a good combo the cheese in it just did not work and tasted funny. I honestly wondered if maybe it was off because after eating it I had pretty rough indigestion throughout the night. Thankfully, the rest of the meal made up for it.

I would still highly recommend this place and caution you to try to get there ASAP when they open as they only stay open a few hours and run out of...
