After a visit to The Great Wolf Lodge our family went on a search for a hometown (not chain) place to eat. We drove into the Business District of LaGrange to be "tourists". We grabbed some bbq at the eatery next door but honestly decided the Rock Salt Milk Bar was gonna be a bonus. We noted opening time was NOON. Lunch finished up and we were outside the door of RSMB at 11:55. We stood at the door waiting for the door to open. It probably scared the young man prepping to open. I'm not sure if the adults or the kids (7 & 5 yo) were more excited to get ice cream. Sooo... RSMB made our stop so worth it. The bar itself was so impressive. The offerings were plentiful and unique. Homemade ice cream??? So many flavors made choices difficult. Fresh. Organic. Ingredients. The dining room was very clean and welcoming. Now, I decided to write this review not just about the things I've mentioned above. I'm writing with much of an important reason. It was because of the young man, I didn't get his name, that served us. I was stressing over my selections and it was my time to order. He was amazing! So kind! So prompt! He explained about the making of the ice cream. He offered samples (as many as we wanted) We used our manners and didn't try them all lol! He was patient and friendly with our orders. I'd like to blame the kids for being indecisive but it was me. It was refreshing to have such a nice person to make us feel welcomed and not as if we bothered him. We ordered 5 milkshakes and he made 1 after the other with a 😊 . I say you must go for the ice cream for sure but a treat can be found in the service from this young man. We were there Friday, 2/7/25 just after NOON in case the owners read this they'll know his name. Were about 2hrs from home in Alabama but a road trip to Rock Salt Milk Bar could be in our near future....
Read moreThe ice cream was great even though they had limited flavored. I got a mix of the caramelized banana and fresh strawberry. It was mind blowing. The best part of this experience was the staff. They all seemed like they enjoyed their job and was having fun. They engaged me and my family, and made us laugh and enjoy the experience.
Apparently everyone on this shopping strip loves the place. We got flagged down by staff in the neighboring business asking how we liked the ice cream and telling us their favorite flavors. This is why some people love the small town feel...
Read moreFrom the moment we walked in, the staff was so friendly and welcoming. They encouraged us to take our time sampling flavors and even gave great suggestions when I couldn’t decide between two. Our boys absolutely loved the chalk wall, which kept them entertained, and the outdoor area is beautiful, perfect for enjoying ice cream on a nice day. A big perk for us is that they support a local farm by using milk from right here in the area. This spot is so good, it’s worth the 45 minute drive for us, and it will definitely be our go-to ice...
