So I’ll probably get some flack for this, I was really excited to try this with my wife. We’ve heard really good things about this place. We picked up quite a few deliveries for DoorDash. We went there yesterday. The building was nice and clean well set up and design and the huge back porch. The parking was a nightmare though. The service was a little inpersonal The cashier that took our order look like she didn’t want to be there. I Had the combo plate with brisket and pulled pork, I got Brunswick stew and fries my wife got the nachos with mac & cheese, potato salad and coleslaw, the sides were good. The Brunswick stew was different from what I’m used to, but everybody has their own spin. However, the pork and brisket left something to be desired. The brisket was very dry and no fat whatsoever I know brisket is usually trimmed, but there’s always a little fat cap there to keep it moist and add a little flavor. The pork was dry is very little seasoning. We also tried the white sauce and the vinegar sauce and both were good. I like the restaurant and I There is a good vibe just needs a little improvement on the meats. In my opinion. I’m not a professional That’s Just my opinion. I will go back because I’d like to try the ribs which kind of blew my mind that they didn’t serve during the week only on weekends and Id like to try the pulled chicken and hopefully have a better...
Read moreSince I've driven past Oink at least 20-30 times, I was excited to try a new restaurant in town. Upon walking in, the ambiance was inviting, the decor was quaint, and the overall setting was clean. I placed a 'to go' order, Kudos for their ability to serve it under 3 minutes. When I received the bag, it was extremely light in weight. I took a peek and addressed what I saw in my bag, which differed significantly from images advertised on their website. I opened the styrofoam container and noticed 3 1x2" morsels of brisket. I was told that this was a normal serving by the "indifferent" young lady at the register. The pictures online depict 4 pieces/slices of brisket. The "texas toast" was a lightly toasted (on one side) slice of white bread. My gut instinct was to ask for a different entree aside from the featured skimpy brisket dinner. I chose not to do this because there were approximately 6-7 people behind me, and I didn't want to be seen as "that guy." (BTW, were you guys running out for the night?) $17 + 15% tip is disappointing. The greens were tasteless, my potato salad was bland, and I was left craving an actual meal after what seemed like apps. It's time to go back to Country Bar-B-Que down the road. ☆☆☆All my reviews and over 2 million views are genuine and...
Read moreLovely place located in downtown LaGrange. There was a back deck which allowed for additional seating. At first glance the location appeared to not be popular, but there was a steady stream of take out orders and diners rotating in and out. The food was delicious I got a brisket and sausage sandwich with fries and potatoe salad. The rest of the family got pulled pork sandwichs and one grilled cheese. All reported the food was good.
The BBQ sauces were on point. The sweet was thick and smoky while the vinegar was more liquidity and tangy. I mixed the two and was overall impressed.
Staff was attentive and polite. The young lady must have noticed the confused look on our faces when we walked in as she offer to explain the menu and options quickly after we got there.
The only issue I had was that they did not have large cups, I drink a lot, and had planned to empty that sweet tea container before I left, but the cups were...
