The food was delicious once we got it after a long wait for the food to arrive we had a pre-booked reservation so we were seated quickly in quite an empty restaurant. We sat upstairs on the deck outside, which was what we wanted. The music was really loud out there so it was hard to have conversations While not yelling at each other. We waited close to 15 minutes between drinks and appetizers and receiving our food. And then an extensive almost 20 minutes, just to get our bill and check paid out not sure what the problem was there, but even though our very young waitress was polite, was not very attentive with refilling our drinks and coming back to our table frequently. As we returned inside to leave, we noticed that the very young staff gather together and seem to be gossiping in conversing in their corners while not attending to customers as they should, even though this was a lunch and not a very busy evening meal, and the restaurant hadn’t had their grand opening yet I feel like maybe a manager can clean this stuff up before the downfall as being experienced in the restaurant and customer service industry myself for over 20+ years this can be a catalyst and needs to be observed, and maybe nipped in the butt before this is a norm. All the staff is very young and clicky and it is very obvious they huddle together rather than tend to customers...

CRYING EAGLE LAKEFRONT- Lake Charles, LA

Vibes: ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ - Wow, this place is incredible! Such a cool addition to our foodie scene! It’s not really comparable to anything else we have locally, definitely a completely different scene, menu, clientele (in a good way) than just the University location! The location makes you feel like you aren’t in LC.

Food/Drink: ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ - an eclectic & very original menu. No chicken nuggies at this location 🤣 our server was Conner & he was extremely attentive & professional. We had a group of 5 for lunch on Sunday & we all had a drink/mocktail from the bar & shared 5-6 appetizers & 2 desserts. The flavor pallets were insane! I’m excited to return & try even more of their menu items.

Accessibility: ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ - parking lot had multiple handicap parking spots, all ramps were correctly placed. No push button entry at any doors. Bathroom was 4/5. Very beautifully done. Sinks are roll under, handicapped stall was tighhhht. I wasn’t able to get my scooter inside & shut the door. Dining room was fairly easy to navigate on a scooter. Chairs were all movable & there were plenty of low top table options. All outdoor seating areas were also accessible; floor was either concrete or faux grass. The top balcony & bar was so cool & there is elevator access as well as...

I don't even know where to start... We went on the opening day, and this was an 11/10 experience overall. Chef Lyle prepared what was literally the best Short Rib I have ever had in my entire life! My gf said the same thing about the mac & cheese. Each cocktail looked so enticing that we couldn't decide on which one to try first. The bread pudding with baby mint was phenomenal. Oh, and did I mention it was the best short rib that I've EVER had? Seriously, I will be thinking about that for months. Also, whomever is in control of the music playlist, kudos for the excellent taste. I thought they were somehow playing one of my Spotify playlists. The atmosphere was exactly what I want in an upscale dining experience. It reminded me of the fine dining restaurants in large cities while still maintaining that specific SWLA vibe that only Charelstonians can understand. The view of the sun setting over the lake paired perfectly with our desserts, the attentive and friendly staff, and our cozy table. We absolutely will be returning soon. This is my new favorite restaurant. Not just in Lake Charles, but anywhere. Oh also...
