Mikey's Drive In — Restaurant in Lake Charter Township

We had just finished taking our dog swimming at Warren Dunes State Park and were HUNGRY. Found this drive in and decided to go since we could just eat in the car with our boy.

Parked in the drive in and was greeted by a polite young woman. (I should really learn to get people's names!) We let her know that we have never been here before, so she gave us time to pick out what we wanted while she got our drinks. She even offered to get a bowl water for our dog!

I ordered the hamburger, fries, and small strawberry shake while my boyfriend ordered the cheeseburger, fries, and chocolate shake. The food did not take long to be made.

I had to roll my window up just a little so the tray could sit on the window.

The burger was good. There was no salt on the fries - such a great thing to do - I which more companies did that! They do supply you with salt and ketchup, so don't worry. And, the shake was mighty tasty.

I kept craving to go back over the next couple days while were in town. I regret not going back. I know, it's just a burger... but it was a neat experience.

Decided to try Mikey's tonight. They close @ 8 but no problem as I arrived at 7:30. Sat there for more than a half hour when the car hop headed for the car next to me. He politely told her that I was ahead of him. She looks put out and comes to my car and proceeds to tell me they're not serving any more food. I said I wasn't happy about them letting me sit there for over a half hour and then telling me they're not serving. She looks at me and says well, technically we're closed. Ah, but you weren't closed when I arrived. She made excuses about short staffed and then the owner made excuses about being slammed with a big order. They were very rude about it too as if their problems were somehow my fault. I can't rate the food but I can tell you they're very lacking in the customer relations department. We were in town and visited Mikey's for the first time. We have a dairy allergy in our family, so I had reached out earlier in the day to get some allergen information. They were quick to respond and went above and beyond to help, even on a Saturday!

We ordered burgers, fries, mozzarella sticks, and a specialty drink. The burgers were especially good with one exception. I made mine deluxe which was listed as lettuce, tomato, and mayo. Mine was slathered in am excessive amount of "mayo". I could have dealt with that, except it wasn't mayo, but Miracle Whip. I was not prepared for that. Thankfully, it was mostly on one half of the bun and lettuce. I was able to eat the patty and half of the bun. Please, I'm begging you, don't substitute Miracle Whip for mayo without...
