I grew up in Lake Worth and when it came to pizza it couldn't get any better than a very popular, nearby competitor around since the early 70s. We followed them to each location never thinking twice of trying any other. Recently we started boycotting for purly political reasons. Well, we needed a new pizza place and decided to try a friend's recommendation, Four Brothers Italian Kitchen at Forest Hill and Florida Mango. Apparently they've also been around since the early 70s, I had no clue.
My husband and I stopped in Saturday for lunch and got a mushroom & sausage Sicilian Pizza and a Spinach Calzone. We've got a new favorite place for pizza!
The pizza had a light golden crisp on the bottom and was fluffy and moist above without an over abundance of sauce and just enough cheese. Every bite had mushroom and sausage in it and was delicious!
The Calzone was big enough for 2 with the perfect blend of Ricotta cheese, mozzarella cheese and chopped, fresh spinach with just the right touch of garlic. I'm sensitive to the liberal use of garlic. I like it in moderation and repulsed if used heavy handedly. This was perfect!
We had a great lunch with plenty of leftovers to take home. Our server was Sue, she was delightful and patiently answered our numerous questions. She was the only server and quite busy by the time we left. Still, she had the room under control giving everyone impeccable attention.
Today, two days later, we returned to try their dinners. I got the fettuccine alfredo with chicken. The pasta was done perfectly, the sauce was delicious and obviously made with fresh ingredients and plenty of tender chicken cut into bite size pieces. I ordered this from the early bird menu because I wanted to see if the portions were smaller. Nope, I took home leftovers, enough for lunch the next day. Plus, I got a small bowl (not a cup) of soup, I chose Pasta e fagioli over minestrone, which was very flavorful and full of beans, meat and pasta (a choice of soup or salad was offered) and a cup of ice cream for dessert, all for under $15.
Hubby got veal picatta from the main menu. Three slices of fresh veal served over a very thin spaghetti with plenty of sauce. I don't eat veal, but he said it was amazing. His came with soup or salad of which he chose the salad with Blu cheese Dressing, which I had to taste and it was very good and super chunky. I would have needed more dressing, though. One little cup wouldn't have done it for me.
We are loving the food here, it's obvious that everything is made fresh, with quality ingredients and a lot of love.
The service staff is very good. They are friendly, knowledgeable and never stop moving as they strive to make every customer's dining experience the best they can.
The decor is simple, very clean and not at all cluttered or cramped with several rows of booths on one side of the spacious room and assorted tables on the other. There is even a separate entrance for take out orders, of which there seemed to be plenty.
Four Brothers is a gem tucked away in a strip mall that I've I unknowingly passed thousands of times while traveling on Forest Hill through Lake Clark Shores. Don't wait as long as we did to check them out. You might just find yourself a new...
Read moreWe were only visiting Palm Beach for the day when we decided to grab a quick bite on our way back home an hour away.
We found Four Brother's Restaurant doing a quick search on Google.
We arrived approx. 3pm (ish) on a Thursday and the entire place was empty of any customers. You can see the empty dining room from the photo's I took.
Our waitress was very nice and brought everything in a very quick manner. Well, we were the only ones there, lol!
My son ordered a side dinner salad prior to the Pizza and garlic bread we had ordered. He doesn't like cucumbers so took those off. He started to eat said salad and he said it tasted absolutely disgusting. Now I've never been to a restaurant that the salad was in edible ever! He quickly put it aside and didn't eat another bite. I mean (how) do you screw up a salad??
Our Pizza slices and garlic bread came in mere minutes. I will say I was a bit disappointed about my Pepperoni Pizza slice because half my slice had NO Pepperoni on it! How does that happen??
My son's 2 (double) Pepperoni slices did indeed have double Pepperoni but the grease was overwhelming!
Now to the garlic bread. First know they do NOT sell garlic knots, only garlic bread. You can order it with cheese but we preferred plain. We were happy by seeing real chunks of garlic however, when you pick it up to rip off a piece the bread is completely saturated with butter. I mean to the point its not crunchy at all, it's flimsy! Also, I actually had to use salt because all you could taste was butter and a slight garlic flavor if you got a chunk or two on your piece, kind of tasteless otherwise.
Over all our experience here with the food was terrible! If we're ever back down there we will not be going there again, sorry.
The only happy note about our visit were the 3 woman waitress that were extremely nice and efficient.
Other notes.... The restaurant was very clean but our salt shaker was below half full and the Parmesan cheese was low as well. I did use the woman's restroom while there and it was delightfully clean and well stocked with soap and...
Read moreMe and my family have been coming to this restaurant my entire life 20+ years. Not to mention my father grew up in the area and has been eating there for even longer. We dined in tonight and ordered a pizza as usual. It came horribly which is completely unexpected of the restaurant since the food is typically good. We sent it back to be cooked more since we requested it to be cooked well done. After an extremely long wait just for it to be put back in the oven, it comes back and its even worse than the first time they brought it to the table. Of course we say something to the waitress and the owner ended up coming to the table asking what the problem was with an incredibly condescending attitude and being completely rude trying to tell us nothing was wrong with it. He ended up storming off back into the kitchen, my father followed him and over heard him saying that we are just some New Yorkers complaining trying to get food for free. We ended up leaving and never getting a new pizza and still paying for everything by the way. That will be the last time we ever dine at Four brothers pizza. Its quite a shame the owner is a terrible person and has to have his employees sit there and make excuses for his horrible attitude. I would not recommend going here if you're looking for good...
