Francesca's Intimo — Restaurant in Lake Forest

I was disappointed by my experience at Francesca's Intimo in Lake Forest. As a long time Lake Forester and avid citizen in community events, Francesas was always a place that we would attend for family dinners on Sunday's, graduation parties, and Birthday parties. We always relied and had great service until today, 06/19/2016. We walked in a tiny bit later than our reservations and were told that we would be seated shortly. 3 girls stood around as hostesses, all extremely confused as to how to seat in a full restaurant. We were eventually asked 20 minutes later if we would like to sit outside(in the 90*F heat) which we politely declined. There was an open table in the back, which we were eventually seated at 30 minutes later. We ordered off the menu and waited for the appetizers to come. We had to ask multiple time for clean plates before we were given them. Also, out busboy (Saúl) was rude when we asked him for water after waiting 15 minutes, stating "GIVE me a minute." (in a very rude voice). The food came out, my dish was a little undercooked. I ordered the bistec with frites and most of the dish was fat that ended up being thrown out. We finished our meal and waited for our check. After about 20 minutes(not even being asked if we wanted dessert) we went to the front to ask for the check. Our waiter then told us that he was "reducing our check for Father's Day" in a very sarcastic tone. His name was Paul if anyone wanted to know. We paid and left a $5 tip on a $100+ meal. We visited Francesca's on Christmas Eve. I am delighted to share my outstanding experience with Angelina. It is rare to find someone who excels in their role with a genuine love for their job, but our recent dining experience provided us with exactly that. The charm and warmth of Angelina surpassed all expectations and set the tone for a delightful evening. My Mother is quite particular as to where she sits. Angelina managed to find her the perfect spot to reserve. She then greeted us with a friendly smile and her welcoming spirit instantly made us feel comfortable and appreciated. Angelina moved effortlessly around the dining floor, ensuring customers were happy and generally making everyone feel well taken care of.

Her cheerfulness and professionalism were infectious, spreading joy throughout the room and clearly impacting the entire staff who seemed to imitate her energy and respect for customers. Angelina ensured we had the perfect Christmas Eve. We left the restaurant that evening not only raving about the food, but also the extraordinary service we received even before we took our seats. I also have to commend Nono, who was the friendliest and kindest busser we have ever encountered.

Despite the fact that I made a reservation for dinner, they had us standing and waiting for over a half hour waiting on a table. When I first showed up on time for my reservation, I was told the table will be ready shortly. After waiting for about 10 minutes, a table opened up. We figured they will bus the table and have us seated. Instead, they cleaned the table and seated a walk in that came after us. When I asked the host, he said that he didn't give us that table because he had a booth that will be opening up shortly and he would give us the better table. I told him that's fine we will wait. after another ten minutes went by. We were told by the host they are resetting our table, he will have us seated shortly. After another ten minutes passed, we still haven't been seated, we decided to leave and go to "Market House on the Square".
