My fiance and I met up with our friends who recommended Chao, at the restaurant. We arrived at a decent time because it wasn't busy. The space was crowded in some areas so moving through the restaurant was tight in between tables. We were greeted in a timely manner. Our appetizer and drinks came quickly. We had to wait to ask for refills on our drinks, which wasn't very often. So we had to drink slow until our server arrived. When our dinner arrived 20 minutes later , one meal was missing, so the three of us decided to wait until our friend received their meal. Approximately 30 minutes later, our friend asked the server the status on our friend's meal. She replied in a few minutes. 20 minutes later, the final meal arrived. The food was delicious. When we got to the counter, we asked the cashier, who was also our server if we can split the bill. She said " You should have asked to split the bill earlier. I'm too old for this. There's not much difference between the orders, just pay it on one card and the others should pay you back, I'm just too old." She went on and I whispered to my fiance, lets just pay for it because this situation is unnecessary and unprofessional. we felt very uncomfortable and just wanted to leave. We handed our card to her as she was still talking to our friends. She took the card and said "okay. Finally. Make sure they pay you back ." It was just a surreal, did that really just happen? Moment. We were flabbergasted of the experience. Overall, disappointed because our friend, who's meal was missing,...
Read moreFirst year: the Thai dishes are great including the Thai iced tea and iced coffee. I have tried the pad Thai, lunch fried rice, pad see yoo noodles and chicken satay. I have not tried the NONE Thai dishes (pho, orange chicken, etc..). The Thai lady owner Ms Vicky & her son who's also the night cook, are very friendly and accommodating. This place has a professional kitchen and food comes out ON TIME even when the place is packed. They do not close in the middle of the day to buy ingredients. Note #1: order spicy level #1 or #2. Number 3 feels like #4 or #5 already. try the [chicken] with green beans in a sweet spicy sauce; comes with rice. I highly recommend their "pineapple fried rice". Update:12-07-2023: lady employee was very kind enough to deliver the order to my car as I was incapable to go inside to pick up. Tyvm. Note: this used to be called CHAO PRAYA. Now it's just called "Thai food restaurant". Next time you are told by a racist loser to change whatever they hate about your business, you DON'T do that. There are also people in this town who will tell you to change the music you're playing while they eat the food you make for them. Do they even know they are GUESTS in your...
Read moreHuge miss. The immediate red flag I should have noticed was the sign up front that provides an excuse for the sub par service you’re about to receive. Small businesses can still be run efficiently and effectively, find your weak spots and improve don’t just accept it and continue. On the night we went they had two servers, someone clearing and cleaning tables and they let us know they had two cooks. The service was unbelievably slow and chaotic at the same time. It was busy, as most all restaurants are on any special occasions so we expected a little wait. Luckily we only waited about 1.5 hrs for our food other customers around us were not as lucky. When confronted about this the waitstaff blamed togo orders!!! Its very common place for restaurants to no take togo orders when they are busy, I highly recommend this one do the same since they clearly cant handle anything more than the 20 or less table tops in house. Id love to say the food was so good it made up for the bad service and long wait, sadly it...
