Well this is the post that I never thought I would post. Mostly cause I didn't think it would ever happen. But folks i must commend Stubbys Red Wagon BBQ in Lake Havasu city for being the first since i started this over 10 years ago. 1st I need to give thanks to Michael Harris for having me give them another chance. The way this thing works usually i never go more than twice and once reviewed i don't have to nor have i needed to give another review. But Stubbys has done it. I heard thru the grapevine that they were looking for me and i thought well let's do it. As yall know since my wife passed two years ago I've been the me that I always am but looking to get outta here so I can go see her. So I thought maybe. Then outta no where the owner stubby himself asked the waitress I was in the bar with if that was me. Then walked away. Then as I left i heard hey. Hey you..I turned and it was stubby walking at a pretty good pace. And let me tell you he's a big boy solid so I thought this is it. Then to my surprise The Man did something I've never seen. He asked if I was the one that reviewed his place. I said yes. He said can you give us another shot. I don't know how it happened and we're wanting to make it up to you. I was floored taken back shocked. So without hesitation I shook his hand and said absolutely. He said come in tomorrow so i wanted to wait till almost close, cause like last time it was close to close. And they were above and beyond in conversation and having me try different things. Which i tried the pork, brisket, and turkey. And if you're meat is good you don't need sauce. And it passed with extra stars cause I tried it all without the sauce and then with. Amazing without sauce, to die for with the sauce. And as I ate we talked about the two previous reviews and how we all can be better. So thank you Stubbys and his wife for an enjoyable conversation on business and how we as business owners need to hold ourselves accountable if it's the case. But these people just wanting free stuff i say no. So them taking accountability well that is what made me a customer for life. Yeah I said it. That to me means he does want the best to go out and like my baby girl Tara used to say. Make every dish like it's your grandma's and you'll always serve the best food. So go to Stubbys and tell Em you read this article that way they know how impressed i am. And last but definitely not least. I also am not perfect and was told I said something about him being 1 armed. I deleted the post way before and don't recall saying it but i take their word. So stubby I'm sorry that I said something derogatory about you missing forearm and hand. That's not me and i apologize. Now just know that since we're friends I'll be making fun of everything and I hope you do as well. Cause we both know it could be worst so enjoy life laugh and be better. Read moreIf you're anywhere near Lake Havasu and craving some good BBQ, you’ve gotta check out Stubby’s Red Wagon. I had an off-menu item called the Cowboy Sundae—pulled pork layered with baked beans and topped with their coleslaw. Sounds wild, but it was seriously delicious. I personally mix it all up. The flavors all worked perfectly together.
My wife had the mac and cheese with beef brisket, and wow—it was smoky, juicy, and totally hit the spot. The brisket was packed with flavor and super tender, and the mac and cheese was creamy and comforting.
On top of that, the owner and staff are just awesome—super friendly, down-to-earth, and make you feel right at home. Definitely a place we’ll be coming back to. Stubby’s is a hidden...
Read moreIf this is the best Havasu has... don't bother. The only thing edible was the baked beans and potato salad. Got the three meats three side combo, and I hate to be this person but two of the three meats were spoiled. The chicken has a very distinct tang of being two or three days past it's due date, and the "pulled pork" tastes like hot garbage. I really wanted to like this, but the meat is beyond foul, both the brisket and pulled pork are crockpot level of cooking, absolutely no way this was on a bbq or smoker at any point. For a first time customer, you treated me like a rube. I should have known better, that's on me. I...
