Dairy Bar — Restaurant in Lake Jackson

Disappointed.

We ordered 2 cheeseburgers, fries, chocolate shake, and a banana spilt. It’s hot out. The first item they bring out is the banana split. It begins to melt as we are still waiting on the hot food. We drive back to the drive thru where we placed the order and asked them to remake it when our hot food is ready. They offered to put it in the freezer but I insisted since it was already very melted. I can see them inside as one of the employees begins to remake it as they are talking back and forth, maybe even arguing I can only assume. I look away and then she comes to the window handing it to me as if it was the new one. They then hand us our hot food and the shake. I could CLEARLY see that they had just stuck the first one in the freezer and as the top was frosted looking and melted ice cream dripping all over us in the car from it. The employee mentioned “lucky you, that was the last banana” - if they were out and not able to remake it , I would have rather them just been truthful and offered another item...

I’ve been here a couple times for food, but what really brings me here is their soft serve ice cream..specifically the chocolate/vanilla twist cone which is truly hard to find. Theirs is the best I have had since we moved from the Midwest years ago. HOWEVER and the reason for the 3 stars is the ridiculously inconsistent sizing. A large twist cone is just over $4 with tax…I have to say I have never received what I would truly consider a large. The first time I ordered i ordered a small and it was barely the size of a baby cone at other places. The “large “ is the size of a small but varies each time I ordered it between tiny and small. If it wasn’t so dang good I would stop giving them another chance. If they could get the sizing consistent and a little bigger I would definitely give...

Im staying in town for the weekend. While looking for a place to eat this place caught my eye. Looks very old school look. They been here since 1951 and while dining in, looks like they’re going to be here another 75 years. Burgers are awesome (meat is from grass feed cows), onions rings made from scratch, and ice cream was on point (just the right amount of flavor). The assistant manager took my order and he was very kind and patient with me explaining what they offer( since it’s my first time here). Atmospheres was great very homie place. I urge everyone to try this place out while y’all in town or just passing by. Am I coming...
