We visited this restaurant on Mother’s Day after spending a lovely afternoon at the beach with family and friends. Our group consisted of 10 people (4 adults and 6 children), and after reading positive reviews, we were hopeful this would be a great place to enjoy a celebratory dinner.
We arrived around 5 p.m. and anticipated a short wait due to the holiday and the size of our party. We were seated after approximately 10–15 minutes, but unfortunately, the table provided only had eight seats. Since this clearly wasn't adequate for our group, we sat the children at the original table and the adults at the one adjacent to it.
From there, the experience quickly declined. It took nearly 20 minutes before we were given menus or had our drink orders taken. While the restaurant was busy, the delay in basic service was surprising. An additional 20 minutes passed before a waitress arrived to take the adults’ orders. I informed her we’d also be ordering for the children, but she told us she couldn’t take their order since their table was assigned to a different server. Another 20 minutes went by with no sign of that server, and I ultimately had to get up and request service myself.
From the time we ordered, it took over an hour to receive our food. Not once during that hour did anyone come by to refill our drinks—we had to walk to the counter multiple times to request them ourselves. We also had to repeatedly ask for missing items, including silverware, which should have been provided without request.
When our meals finally arrived, several components were missing: no salads or coleslaw were brought out, despite being part of our meals. We asked three different staff members about them, yet never received those items. My boiled shrimp and crawfish were incredibly bland, and I had to ask several times for seasoning, which only came after I walked up to the counter again. My baked potato, which was supposed to come with cheese, chives, butter, bacon bits, and no sour cream, arrived with only butter, bacon, and sour cream—missing the cheese and chives I was looking forward to.
We were at the restaurant for a total of 2.5 hours—far longer than we had planned. We had a 2-hour drive home and were hoping to enjoy a quick dinner so we could get back before dark. Unfortunately, due to the disorganized and inattentive service, we got home much later than intended.
To add to the disappointment, the restaurant was not clean—there was food on the floor, and the bathrooms were in poor condition. When we went to the cashier to pay (since we never received a check at the table), we expressed our dissatisfaction. The response was simply, “I’m sorry, we’ve been busy since we opened at 11.” We were offered a comp on our drinks, which felt like an inadequate gesture considering only two of us ordered sodas while the rest had water.
While my husband did enjoy his meal, the overall experience was frustrating and disappointing. The staff seemed overwhelmed and unorganized, and the level of service we received was far below acceptable standards. I hope the management takes these issues seriously and considers retraining staff and improving both cleanliness and customer service. This establishment has potential, but significant...
Read moreFirst, yes it is Mother’s Day and most restaurants are going to be busy. We had expected that. What we did not expect or appreciate was everything else. We arrived and waited 15 minutes to get seated and that was expected with 10 of us. We allowed the 6 kids to be seated at 1 table and us 4 adults to be seated at another table to help this move faster. This is when everything falls apart. It took 20 minutes to get menus. Then 20 minutes and they came to take our order but the waitress stated she could not take the children’s order because it was not her table. She informed us that she would let the other waitress know we were ready to have the kids order taken. Then 20 minutes later we had to physically get us, find a waitress, and ask for her to come get their order. An hour and a half after we had been there we start to notice that many tables to come in after us have been served their food. I had already had to start getting up to get any refills. We had to stop a waitress and ask to go check on our food. Magically it started coming out. We asked the waitress for all of the salads and coleslaws that were missing and a cup of seasoning for the crawfish. 20 minutes later one of us had to get up, go to the counter, and ask for all this again and all we got was a cup of seasoning. I would say the fish and shrimp I got was great at first but after having to get up to help with refills many times that my food got cold, of course it was disappointing. Through out the meal we were never checked on not even once. Nobody apologized when I went to get refills for me having to constantly get up then wait for them. During check out I expressed all of this to the lady and her answer first was “I am sorry we have been busy since 11 when we opened.” Then after I continued to express everything that was lacking and the fact we did not get some food that came with meals that we were getting charged for she asked if we wanted the salads and coleslaws slaw to go. No we do not with us still needing to drive 2 hours home. So she said she could skip adding the drinks but all she can say is she is sorry. She was sorry for the experience and agreed that it was not service of any kids we got. Two waitresses came to say they were sorry but everyone continued to say that is all they could do. And on another note during all of the times they were taking to go orders through this 2+ total hours those customers were told it would be ready in 15-20 minutes. I heard this mentioned to customers every time I went to ask for refills. So we paid our bill but I sit here and wonder if all those other customers were more...
Read moreExtremely poor service. Went on a Tuesday evening, only a total of 10 tables were occupied including ours. Service was extremely slow. Our meal showed up and we never even got our salad prior so we asked about them then. Had to ask for straws. And ketcup. And tartar sauce. And our salad. And ranch. By the way, the people right behind us with a different waiter receive their salads very quickly after placing their orders and well before their dinner was served. Happened to have a gift card. Waitress took our receipt, gift card and credit card and she helped several other people after us check out but said nothing to us about what was the hold up on our transaction. I asked another waiter to check on our status of our card and he said it was about to be processed. After four other people in line checked out. Went up to the cash register after some time to find out what the holdup was and the waitress said that they were trying to “figure out” how to complete the transaction with the gift card. The guy on the register was on the phone with someone doing his best to muddle through it, because they don’t give training on this matter apparently. Took wayyyyyy longer than it should’ve, Not just the checkout process but the entire experience....
