mother and daughter make a priority out of preserving the bottom line! i picked through my chorizo which was badly burnt and had been delivered by apparently the first girl that was passing by !i informed my actual sever of the problem when asked"how was everything"i was informed that i should have complained immediately even though i could not get anybodys attention.the server quickly brought out a little plate of potatoes to try to appease me and no mention of everything else that was burnt .iwent to the counter to pay up and was asked by the owner how was everything and informed her of the problem then the server arrived and both of them reiterated their policy about unsatisfactory meals being returned immediately and proceeded to form a consensus that it was the cooks fault when i interjected about my surprise that the cook let the food leave the kitchen.i waited for alittle change from the $20 i tendered the owner while the debate raged over who was really at fault and i siad keep the change because i cannot take any more of this and i know how important the money is...
Read moreMixed review that’s why I’m giving it three stars. I love supporting small businesses so that’s why I came here instead of the DD (which if you’re coming from the south is MUCH easier to turn into than this place. Otherwise ample safe parking. Cute store front and reminds me of a mom & daughter / family place. They are fully “COvid proofed “ if you will which may have led to the poor experience. I didn’t know where to order nor where the menu was. Thank goodness I already knew I needed a small coffee & wanted to try one of the delicious looking donuts that I saw when I did a Google search. Long story short the main / head lady there gave more attention to the “clearly local regular “ as she called him by name rather than the “clearly lost newbie” haha. Although they seemed rushed with only two customers it took three minutes for them to ring up my order after it was all packaged up and ready. If anything I felt I was taking up their time & space instead of being welcomed into this small...
Read moreGreat staff and were gracious while accommodating our large group after my son's graduation from Sutherland. The baked goods are delicious and the French toast is especially awesome. My husband made a surprise choice to have the Irish breakfast and enjoyed it (guest we are going to Ireland for bangers and mash soon🥰). The grits I thought were tasty but different for those who don't enjoy Parmesan as it's the cheese featured int he shrimp and grits, a long with a dark gravy. I prefer a white cream based sauce with the dish but again it was not bad, just taste difference. With that being said, my mom ate most of my french toast 🥴. Luckily I had a chorizo skillet that was flavorful and enjoyed it with corn tortillas, which my son also commandeered after a taste bite. He loved the specialty French toast (creme brulee) but the regular suited me just fine.
Definitely support local and enjoy the personalized dining experience at this cafe. We will continue...
