During a recent visit to The Original Pancake House in Beverly, I savored a delightful breakfast that exceeded my expectations. This charming restaurant truly lives up to its well-deserved reputation for serving exceptional breakfast dishes that leave you fully satisfied. From the moment I walked through the doors, I was embraced by a warm and welcoming atmosphere. The cozy ambiance, coupled with the tantalizing scent of freshly cooked pancakes wafting through the air, immediately ignited my anticipation for the culinary delights that awaited. One dish that caught my attention was the Pigs In Blankets, an enticing combination of three pork sausage links delicately wrapped in their signature buttermilk pancakes and sprinkled with powdered sugar. These fluffy pancakes were an absolute delight. They were expertly cooked to achieve a flawless golden brown exterior, which provided a slight crispiness while maintaining a delightful lightness and fluffiness on the inside. The harmonious union of the savory sausage and the sweet pancake batter created a true breakfast masterpiece, a match made in breakfast heaven. The service I experienced was exemplary. The staff members demonstrated attentiveness and friendliness, ensuring that my dining experience was nothing short of exceptional. Their dedication to providing top-notch service added an extra layer of enjoyment to my visit. One aspect that particularly impressed me was the value offered. Despite the generous portion sizes and the remarkable quality of the food, the prices remained reasonable. It's a place where you can indulge in a sumptuous breakfast without straining your budget, making it even more appealing to breakfast aficionados like myself. My breakfast experience was nothing short of remarkable. From the inviting ambiance to the attentive service and, of course, the outstanding food, this restaurant is a must visit for anyone seeking a delightful start to their day. I wholeheartedly recommend stopping by and treating yourself to an unforgettable...
Read moreI visited this place 4-2-2023. I called ahead because I wanted to make sure they had the buckwheat pancakes and to confirm their closing and last seating time and was told it was 3pm. I arrived around 230pm was immediately seated, placed an order for the chicken sausage, veggie skillet, and buckwheat pancakes. I place my order and stepped away to the bathroom, bathroom was busy so I had to wait because their are only 2 people capable of going in at one time. When I returned to my table my food was already waiting for me not sure for how long. Chicken sausage was cold, my waitress didn’t come back around for 10 minutes so I had to wait to tell her they were cold, I had eaten 1 sausage, she took the plate and said she would warm the rest of them up, I thought that was really odd that they wouldn’t make fresh sausages but ok no problem. She brings them back and they are lukewarm but she doesn’t stick around to ask how things are or if the temperature was to my satisfaction. Again I don’t see her again for a substantial amount of time. I couldn’t inform her of what was wrong because she disappeared. The table across from me was Spanish speaking and their waitress checked on them, I counted 13-14 times. No exaggeration. Made me feel like they didn’t appreciate my service. She did remove the chicken sausage from my bill but seriously to see my waitress 4 times, ordering, complaining, returning my food and cashing out that is absolutely absurd. The buckwheat pancakes were a huge disappointment it just taste like buttermilk pancakes. Maybe I’ll try a different location. The veggie skillet was actually pretty good after I doctored the seasoning on it. Only way I would return is if this location was willing to make this horrific...
Read moreDisgusting! I do not recommend this establishment. I love breakfast. I do not play about my breakfast food especially, my orange juice. This place played with my food. The orange juice tasted like medicated yellow liquid with pulp. I did not finish my meal nor did I opt to take it home. Sadly disappointed.
UPDATE:
(Since I’m unable to comment on their response.) This location has been open for “58 years”, great. It looks like it’s been open for 58 years. Your atmosphere is very depressing. The place looks like it used to be a funeral home. It smells like a retirement home. I wasn’t going to mention that part but, “58 years”. Maybe in the “58 years” that this location has been open, someone started taking shortcuts. Because I still stand on what I said. There were others in my party who can agree that the food was TERRIBLE! No one finished their food. “58 years” means nothing to taste buds nor quality. In those “58 years” have you changed your team in the back of the house? Did you change your vendor? If we all ordered something different and came to the same conclusion that your food was DISGUSTING, then it was something wrong in that kitchen! So it may feel unwarranted because they’ve been there for “58 years”, but that food is NASTY! I said...
