DA Sandwich Shop Chicago Il — Restaurant in Lake Township

Someone recommended this place to me and mentioned it was black owned so I was eager to try it out. I ordered the corn beef sandwich (that’s what was recommended to me). I spent close to $40 on 2 corned beef sandwiches and was told the wait would be about 15 minutes. It was more like 30 mins.

➡️IN MY OPINION⬅️ $18 is too much for a corn beef sandwich and it didn’t taste like much! It was smothered in oregano so I couldn’t really taste any of the other toppings on it. The employees were nice although they seemed short staff that day. (There was 1 person preparing all orders, and I could tell they were overwhelmed). I probably won’t be back but I wish this black owned business nothing but...

Customer service was absolutely amazing. The gentleman at the window, explained the sandwichs perfectly... Even taking the time to make sure my build a sandwich designed by me wonderfully. I went to do a social media food review... And was met with a warm welcome. Portion is huge, which in this economy is great. I had a corn beef and ham sandwich... Fried catfish wrap... Hennessy wings...double chocolate and a lemon cupcake. It was a lot of food even for 4 ppl. Hennessy wings left a little to be desired .. but worth the price still. I love in the area.. and plan on trying everything on the menu. Can't wait to post my social...

THESE ARE SOME HEAVY DUTY SANDWICHES WHERE U HAVE TO OPEN UR MOUTH WIDE TO BITE THEM. THEYRE VERY GOOD AND APPROPRIATELY PRICED. THAT GARLIC SAUCE IS CHEFS KISS. I WOULDA LIKED MORE SPICE TO THE CHILI BUT I CAN STILL APPRECIATE THAT ITS HOMEMADE. THE DESSERTS R BAKERY QUALITY. THAT CAKE WAS SO MOIST AND FLAVORFUL. THIS IS A NEW SHOP AND THE OWNER DOESNT HAVE THE HANDS TO KEEP UP WITH THE DEMAND BUT SHE MAKES UP FOR IT IN CUSTOMER SERVICE. SHE IS SO NICE AND LETS U KNOW HOW THE ORDER IS COMING ALONG.
