I called the restaurant on 2/15/18 @ approximately 6:30 pm. I am a Black female. Told the Mexican woman I want 1 chicken taco with cheese and chicken nachos with tomatoes. She said that's it. No cheese? Told her I'll call back. Called my son who wanted the cheese but by this time I was at the restaurant. Told her I was just on the phone ordering the nachos. Repeated my order and said to put cheese on nachos. She said we don't have chicken. Only pork. How don't u not have chicken all of a sudden? I said thank you, left the restaurant and drove off. I just went up a block called my Mexican husband and told him to order 4 chicken tacos with cheese only. He placed the order. She told him 10 mins. When he went to pick it up she laid the bag on the counter for him. I walked in and grabbed the bag. She said that bag is for him. He said that's my wife. Her eyes got big. I just walked out because I was pissed. She lied and told my husband I asked for tamales. The man at the grill was laughing cuz she was caught. She apologized to him. He frequents the place. And that racist woman said she only had pork because black people are more likely to get chicken and steak tacos not pork....
Read moreI’ve been coming to this taco spot since 2014 and I used to really love it, but over the years the experience has gone downhill.
One of the biggest issues is with pricing. I’ve noticed that certain menu items are listed at one price on the board, but when I go to pay, the waitress suddenly charges me something completely different. For example, I’ve been ordering the chicken salad here for years, and it was always around $13–14. Then one day when I ordered with her, the price jumped to $20. More recently, I ordered chilaquiles that were posted on the wall for $9.50, but at checkout she rang them up as $15.99. Not only is that misleading, but I’m pretty sure it’s not even legal to advertise one price and charge another.
On top of that, the quality of the food has become inconsistent. When I come at night and a certain cook is working, my meat is often burnt. They also never seem to offer specials, and it feels like prices just change whenever they want.
It’s really disappointing because I’ve been loyal to this place for years, but the way things are being handled lately has made me not want...
Read moreAll three tacos were a new experience for me. I had the chicken, the tripe and a chilled relleno taco. Cilantro and onions. They were all delicious!
The chicken blew me away. I thought at first it might have been dry but that wasnt the case. When the chicken/onions/cilantro mixed and I could really appreciate the strong, savory flavors, I knew I had a winner.
The tripe was fried. It had a great flavor but maybe cooked a minute or two to long. I still enjoyed it and would try it again.
A "mini" chille relleno that really stood out. It was simple. This pepper was comparable to a porterhouse! They had stuffed it with just the right amount of cheese, slightly gooey. Lightly seasoned. It was my favorite.
You can tell the horchata is homemade. Sweet, rich in flavor and the perfect creamy texture! Should have gotten two.
I will be going back. This place is close and it's a great price for the quality of the food. You can eat in their little patio area. The service was fantastic too. Everything is made right in front of you. The woman working the counter was so polite. It really is a great...
