Gorditas La Tia — Restaurant in Lake Township

I went there for the first time yesterday, even though I've lived in the neighborhood for about 9 years. I placed my order for pickup and was told it'd be ready in 10 minutes. I arrived 11 minutes after I called to order my burrito and was charged for my food upon arriving. Once I paid, the girl (not the most pleasant of demeanors) walked to the back to see if my burrito was done. It hadn't even been started. I guess the ticket never printed - and that's fine. I only found out through the conversation the girl had with the cook. So this girl comes back to the front, reprints my meal ticket and tells me that my food would be right out. When she went to fill my agua de horchata, she started by putting ice in the cup - so I said, "excuse me, I'm sorry but I said no ice." The glare I got from her was unexpected and unwarranted - especially since my food wasn't ready. I start work very early and I call ahead when I order food because I just want to get home, I don't want to stand around in a restaurant waiting for my food - especially when the staff has an attitude that I don't need after a hard day's work.

The food itself? That steak burrito should be called a chewy steak burrito. Very stringy, chewy, underseasoned meat.

So I been going here for over 2 years. I am all about supporting local businesses. Not once not twice or even three times, but the 4th time my order is incorrect and not ready when promise. Now I know stuff happens and they can’t always get the time right but the lady taking the orders repeat’s the order back to me and it’s correct but somehow when I get there my order is missing a few things and I have to wait additional time for them to make the items that should of been ready in the first place. Again I don’t like to complain I like to support but after todays experience I will never go there again nor recommend them to anyone. I place a order today and of course it was missing items when I went to pay and of course it wasn’t ready when promised so I had to wait for them to make the items I was missing so yes I was irritated because I gave them several chances. What topped it off for me was one of the lady's up front was talking stuff to the other lady in Spanish about me thinking I didn’t understand what they were saying because my skin color is white!!! I typically never write reviews but this time of year I feel reviews are very important, and your money is worth every penny. I ordered the Gordita Platillo $10.99 with rice and beans and half pound of Carnitas.

First Choice Chicharrón rojo flavors where we on point the masa wasn’t to thick or thin just right. The salsa wasn’t to hot, it was delicious. Highly recommend ordering this particular gordita

Second choice Steak I was beyond Disappointed! Steak Quality was very poor seem like the meat was left over from the prior day small little chunks, greasy. Taste very poorly not season properly. Not worth the money I was very disappointed. Not good quality at all.

I ordered half a pound of Carnitas it was all right I give it a 4 out of 10. Pork wasn’t as fresh as I would like this was around 10:30am. I felt like I received the leftovers.

Although the handmade Flour tortillas was BOMB AS F$#Ck 10-10 delicious Amazing!!!! Salas was also very delicious.
