My review is based on my customer service experience not on the food.
While visiting for the first time eager to try their pupusas unfortunately my family (party of 4) were greeted in a very unpleasant & unprofessional manner. Upon entering there are no signs whatsoever about seating just the basic face mask flyer. There was only 1 table open for seating, all others were fully sat. Mind you the place was clearly not abiding by the whole 6ft guidelines (I'm not concerned at all for any of these guidelines anyway). But once sat a waitress comes by to tell us that they have a max capacity of 10 people (the place CLEARLY had more than 10 people seated & dinning) told us to wait outside if we wanted to dine there, further telling my family & I that it would be a 30min wait. Distraught by the lack of service we decided to take it to go instead, further adding that takeout would be a 30min wait as well & we would have to wait outside for the food as well. Horrible Horrible service as a first timer, after being greeted unpleasantly we decided to just leave. No way we were going to wait 30 minutes to be able to sit & dine when there was clearly an open space and they themselves were disregarding their own policy. If I could give zero stars, I would.
My family later on told me that they ordered delivery from the location & was told that the pupusas were not even up to parr at all. So pretty glad we stuck to our initial decision of not waiting & dinning...
Read moreOMG, I being looking for a pupuseria ever since I came from California to Illinois and that's over a period close to 10yrs. Being originally from California and having Salvadorans friends I have tasted many different pupusas and this pupusas are on the Top of my favorites. I actually coincidentally, found about this place because I saw a lady buying at Costco w/ the restaurant shirt. Than in the parking lot saw a mini van with the whole information. Me being curious, I started to searched it up and was Sooooo Glad it was close by. Let me say, the place is not a big place but is very cozy to come with friends. We went there around 8:30pm and only take out were taken which, I was ok because that's was exactly our plan. Just be awared that they close at 9pm. The menu is not big which is great because is right to the point and after all it call pupuseria not Salvador cousine. The pupusas that we got are huge even though the girl said medium size . I ate 2 and couldn't finished it. We also order plantain w/lechera and it was a good amount of platanos. I have no complains whatsoever. Waiter was genuine welcoming, food was delicious, prices were fair, location is well lit and overall excellent service. My new spot to eat on the weekends. I also found out that they deliver not sure how far but they have the service. Anyone should definitely give this place a try you wouldn't be...
Read moreLet me start this review by saying the Food is great!
I'll get straight to the point. Short version: My order of 3 pupusas took over 1 hour to complete. Which means 1 deep dish pizza from Giordanos cooks quicker! I'm still mind blown.
Read below.
Let me elaborate. Last night I went into the restaurant with a group of close friends, and my siblings. I walked in, placed my order. My group and I all placed individual orders. In total 5 separate orders. Each of our orders consisted of 2-3 pupusas. 30 minutes later, we are still standing in the back of the restaurant. No one in my group has received their order.
When we asked how much longer it would take, they mentioned it would be an additional 30 minutes.
Are you serious? We all left and came back for our orders. Granted, the place was busy.
No apology was offered. No initial communication was made mentioning that it would take 1 hour for pupusas.
I felt left in the cold and disrespected as a customer in the local area.
This is bad business, and I will not be coming back due to slow and disorganized service.
TLDR A group of close friends and my siblings came here. It took them a little bit over 1 hour for them to make 3 pupusas. This is unacceptable. A deep dish pizza cooks quicker...
