Haire's Gulf Shrimp — Restaurant in Lake Township

Tried it for the first time today, and it was absolutely AMAZING!!! I live in Bolingbrook, but was in the city visiting family. A friend told me about this place, and since I was close by, I decided to try it, and I was not disappointed at all! The portion size of the large shrimp was hearty and the price I paid for it was appropriate to the portion. THE SPAGHETTI was so freaking good. It had that complete homemade taste. Many restaurants say the food is homemade, but it still has that commercial taste to it, not here though. This spaghetti was indeed homemade and it was amazing with the shrimp. Again about the portion size, I am a big dude, and I was full after eating the hearty portion with the side of spaghetti.

Although I do not live close, I will definitely be returning to this place because the food was just that great and is worth the drive for me from Bolingbrook.

My one critique is that after calling several times, I could not get through, so I had to walk in and place my order. HOWEVER, it didn't take long to receive my order after walking in, maybe 10 minutes. So all in all it wasn't that big of an inconvenience.

Excellent food, horrible customer service. I placed an order on New Year’s Day, out of towner, we pulled up to the restaurant to find out It was closed for the day, no big deal. We called back the next day to try to get a refund and they took our information down but they did not process the refund, call back a few days later and was told that there was no manager and that I would get a call back, that never happened. Call back again and finally talk to someone who was “the manager“ they started asking me 50 questions and giving me the runaround about the order then he says he needs four digits from the card to process the refund, I gave him the four digits from the card, he says it’s wrong, says there’s nothing he can do for me, I get upset, he gets rude, I told him I would dispute it with my bank if they don’t give me my money back, he told me “do what you need to do.” Used to stop here every time I came to town. My first time visiting was 2 yrs ago. I fell in love with the delicious shrimp at Haire's Famous Gulf Shrimp. The service is just as amazing as the food. I love to support African American owned establisments. So on every visit to Chicago I make it my business to stop in for some shrimp to eat on the road trip back to detroit. With their business expanding & the community expecting quality food it was a pleasure today to see that they have a new larger restaurant style establishment. Everyone was inside siding down enjoying their meals. I definitely would like to say all the way from Detroit, Michigan I pray that you & your family have many more years of success serving the people.
