The service and food here are all top notch! I had passed this restaurant on Archer several times and had no idea what to expect. The servers are very friendly and attentive. They have a small seating area inside and a very nice patio in the rear.
Since it is a Mexican-Japanese fusion restaurant, none of the rolls are what you would find at a standard sushi place. I think that’s great, though, because all of the rolls they serve have very unique flavor combinations. The rolls are all very large and filling, too, since many of them use carne asada, bacon, and other nontraditional meats. One roll is definitely enough for a meal for one person. I think this justifies their menu pricing.
Overall, I think this is a great place for the neighborhood and definitely worth a trip to try something that feels...
Read moreThis place is one of those rare finds… They attempt a fusion, and actually achieve it! On the Mexican side, the Aguas Frescas were great… I had the lemonade with cucumber, which was perfect. Also, I had the tuna tostada, which was probably the best Fish tostada I have ever had. It was mounded with tuna, covered with a rich sauce, and based on a nicely fried tortilla. The role that I had, to speak to the Japanese side, was well composed, and was very abundant. To give a better idea of the fusion, I think that the sauce that one was invited to pour over the tostada was in essence a sangrita, something that you usually drink with a glass of tequila. What a neat idea! The service was excellent, the environment was very pleasant… In all, one of the best meals that I have had in the entire...
Read moreGreat concept, not so great execution. The food was ok at best.
Server brought chips with salsa and some ceviche. Salsa was very lemony. The ceviche had an overpowering fishy flavor, so it was definitely past a fresh date.
Drinks: Limonada and a Coke. This didn’t taste like any limonada I’ve ever had. There were dome additional flavors maybe cucumber in there. Wasn’t sweet or really lemony. I liked it but not what I expected.
Appetizer: Chicharron de pescado. An interesting take on chicharron, wasn’t crunchy, it was actually a bit soggy. Came with 3 tortillas. Generic tasting no flavor.
Rolls: Salmon and Volcano. Ok but not great.
Again cool concept but wouldn’t be a place I’d consider...
