Mexicolombia — Restaurant in Lake Township

This is a Mexican-Colombian fusion restaurant in Brighton Park serving traditional Colombian and Mexican dishes and some of the best cemitas poblanas I’ve had! The bread is incredibly soft and pillowy (even more so than a torta), and the meat fillings are so flavorful. My favorite was the steak cemita poblana. I also tried the Mini Bandeja Paisa, a Colombian lunch plate that was a little pricey ($20), but was hearty, filling, and allowed me to try a bit of everything— plantain, egg, steak, pork, arepa, and rice. The service is very warm, friendly, and the food comes out quickly. The prices are good/reasonable for the portions too, though an extra surcharge is placed on card transactions. —

Very disappointed with the service. I love coming here, but today the service was awful. They didn't check on our table, and to make things worse they didn't gave us our Empanadas. Which that was the reason of coming here. When my husband paid the bill upfront and told them to remove the empanadas from the bill, both ladies working today were arguing back and forth saying that they did gave us our empanadas, which they clearly didn't. Was looking to have a 15 person lunch catered to our Wicker Park location workplace and was having lots of trouble finding a Columbian restaurant nearby that would deliver. A friend suggested Mexicolombia and we gave it a try. Friendly people on the phone, they took our order and promised to deliver the next day. Came right on time.
