Petey's Gyros — Restaurant in Lake Township

Having competent and knowledgeable employees is a must this was just not the case at all at Petey's today. I had the displeasure of dealing with 3 very aggressive and unknowledgable employess through the drive through after bragging about the food here from when I frequented the restaurant when I lived in the area. And the food is still good but the service is ATROCIOUS !!! Good help is hard to find and it truly shows. My experience today was probably my last at this establishment. I was there at approx 3pm look at the picture of my reciept the time is even wrong....... ( it reads 13:58 which is military time for 1:58 pm and I was actually there at 2:58 pm ).......this speaks volumes. How would one give an accurate account of anything based on the proof (your reciept) which is incorrect 🤔

WE KNOW EVERYTHING IS GETTING MORE EXPENSIVE but having Ethics and Integrity is just as important. And a business can choose to just survive or thrive !!! I purchased 2 Large orders of fries but when asking the price of a small fry and then comparably the price of the large fry it took another employee to be called to answer,the young lady taking the order could not answer ?????? Then upon receiving the order I requested a refund if one order because the fries were not fresh but just warm and the bag was not filled and none were spilled over in the bag. It was not a value and highly overpriced $4 for a handful of fries. I was meant with no response then 3 employees 2 women and one man (all of Hispanic ethnicity) the man was cook doubling as the manager or so I was told when I asked for one.

Then she launched 2 or 3 other rules she made up in order to back up her stand on the situation including the insulting reasoning of " she doesnt know what I did to the fries or threw in the bag" which was alarming because because we were the only car in the drive thru and never left the window in addition would you give returned fries to another customer ( I hope not) and I was returning 1 item and asking for 1/2 the refund because I was dissatisfied with the purchase. I was refused my refund and told that they don't refund french fries ???? By the younglady who didn't know the prices of the 2 sizes of fries ????? It was a joke and waste of time. Not to mention all 3 employees were at the window to handle the situation that wasn't a big situation and overblown.

I visited Petey's Restaurant today (10-14-26) around 10:50am and purchased 3 wings with fries, and the fries were dry, cold, and shrivled up, as they had obviously sat in the holding tray for a good while. I showed them to the lady who took my order and requested fresh fries, but all she could say was "some guy didn't pick up his order then she placed the fries in my order back in the fryer for a few seconds to warm them up.

After observing this, I asked for the owner whom this guy claimed to be, and told him what his worker did and all he would say is "We serve fresh fries here". This was totally disrespectful and very un-business likebas they obviously didnt care about the quality of their product. The wings were not that great either! Bland, unseasoned and crumbly crust. I strongly urge the public avoid Petey's on 250 w. 47th st. (@ 47th & Princeton) if you don't want to take a chance on getting food in this condition with calace attidudes to boot. Wow we were just driving back from meat market looking on google maps for food something different, as we were 30 minutes from home. So this placed popped up and I was like ooooh lets try that, I am SOOOOOO glad we did. It was absolutely delicious, I ordered the fried chicken sandwich no tomatoes added american cheese wow I literally couldn't stop eating it, it was so good and the fries were amazing. We also ordered a gyro and that was fantastic. The woman at the counter was so friendly and had a great attitude. This place is all around a must check out if you are in area or just on an adventure like we were. I definitely give them 5 stars across the board. They dont have indoor dining however they have an old school ledge that you can stand and eat at which we did and it was great. They do have a drive thru if you dont want to go in. But I would go in you wont be disappointed. Kudos to everyone who was working on 4/2/23 you all were great, my food was absolutely delicious so...
