Poppin Dough — Restaurant in Lake Township

All the other times I have been here I have had a good experience. But recently on 06/19/2020..I walk in automatically everything seems out of control..which was understandable because of the busy holiday. I have my order taken...had to repeat it over 3 times. I slowly get pieces of my order last thing I was waiting on was my popcorn. One of the workers call out the popcorn which was a cheese and Carmel. So I grab it because I thought it was mine but then realized someone ahead of me had that same popcorn. The lady was waiting longer than me so I gave her the popcorn to be nice. Also I ordered a large not a medium, the bag was a medium the lady before me had asked for a medium. Then the worker who was a lady proceeds to look at me like I’m crazy asking me what did I have..and why did I give it to a different customer...and then says “well that was your popcorn you might want to go see if the lady is still outside with it”. She most definitely did not have to be rude and say that. She did not take my order..so NO that wasn’t my popcorn. Cleary she was irritated and walked off from me...but she did not have to be rude especially since I was polite the whole entire time. No one can say I was rude. There were kids, my own aunt, and older adults in the building. Due to my own experiences in the food working industry i understand how your days can be hard. Which is why I always tend to be nice to all workers. To all the other adults she was nice talking to them asking how are they...but a teenager who is also supporting your business gets rude treatment... Food was very good but customer service was a big NO. So I highly doubt I will be...

Visited today from out of town. Usually closed by the time I come to visit. I saw the reviews online and couldn’t help but see it firsthand. The shaved ice is a dream literally snow that melts in your mouth. For the first time I had a shaved ice that wasn’t too sweet it was perfect!I enjoyed a wine cooler and coconut flavor combo. Very strong flavors. Next donuts really good and homemade super fresh and delicious. Finally the main event... Popcorn. I was offered several samples and I had to buy a bag to take home the hardest part was choosing one combo. I had the dill the hot Cheetos, the caramel and cheddar I was delighted. The popcorn is so soft and buttery and is so good! The best popcorn I’ve ever had.Do not miss out on this Chicago gem!! I will be back and let...

Omg this place is amazing!!!! Not to mention it’s black owned!!!. Customer service to me is everything. I walked through the door and Richard greeted me saying he will be right with me. That’s how it should be. He can tell I never been there Before. He let Me know everything they sell and he allowed me to try some free samples. Get this EVERYTHING IS HANDMADE!!! And EACH NEW CUSTOMER GET A POOPIN DONUT FREE. Their donuts are amazing it’s not to sweet. I tried the cheese Carmel popcorn and I have to say it was great.
